5 OCT 2015 · Chances are if you are in Denver for long enough you have seen Eric Brandt walking around Capitol Hill with a giant middle finger reading "fuck bad cops". Eric's recent work informing jurors about jury nullification has landed him and others in jail which garnered the support of Occupy Denver and other local activists who in solidarity started an encampment outside the Lindsey-Flanigan Courthouse that has garnered national media attention. This tactic has put Eric at odds with Denver DA Mitch Morrissey, District 6 Commander Tony Lopez and Police Chief Robert White.
Eric wants to change the way we keep our communities safe and he wants his authorities to be held accountable for their actions but unfortunately Eric found out that only the squeaky wheels will get the grease. He decided to rust the all wheels and burn down the grease factory.
21 SEP 2015 · District 31 Representative Joe Salazar spent the 2015 legislative session championing causes for the homeless, impoverished and underprivileged in Colorado. I sit down with him to discuss the upcoming session including the Right to Rest Act, fracking regulations, cannabis and police accountability.
7 SEP 2015 · Colorado Senate District 33 candidate Jon Biggerstaff expects a political revolution as he and other candidates like Bernie Sanders seek to engage millennials. Will he face a harsh political reality come November 2016 or will he be riding a wave of a newfound political interest of normal people? My show's ratings kind of depend on it so listen to this episode of Controlling the Conversation and help the both of us out! Stay tuned for a clip of the hilarious Janae Burris from her upcoming appearance on Denver Comedy Spotlight next week.
23 AUG 2015 · Leslie Herod is seeking the Democratic Party nomination for the House District 8 seat. We talk about the priorities she wants to bring to the legislature including affordable housing and police accountability.
