5 SEP 2024 · Meet Dorothy aka Berry and Rosie aka baby wombat the Guinea pig’s!Â
Dorthy is 2 years old and Rosie is 1 years old, these two besties are looking for there forever home together. They are very sweet and a little shy. It does take them some time to warm up, so slow positive introductions will be very important to ensure everyone is comfortable.Â
These two sweethearts are looking for a quiet home, where they can relax and have lots of time to enjoy their favorite toys/ treats.Â
We are suggesting a home with children that can give them lots of space to call their own
As for other animals we have limited history, so we are recommending Good judgment with other animals. They will need their own space to feel comfortable.
These two have an eye for a tasty snack, and would love to lounge around and give lots of guinea squeeks for you!Â
Let’s find these lovebugs their forever home together.
please feel free to contact The Bangor Humane society at (207)942-8902 or email mailto:adoption@bangorhumane.org to learn more about the duo

12 AUG 2024 · Meet Baron, this handsome boy is an older boy at 7 years of age, he gives the peace of knowing exactly who he, a loyal friend.Â
This is Baron's second time here at BHS and he is ready to settle down in his furever home. His perfect home is one where he can be the one and only. He is a bit of a lone wolf and looking to be the only animal, but he has plenty of love to give!
Baron, being experienced in age and outdoors time, is looking for someone who is an experienced dog owner to bond with. Sometimes he still plays like a young pup but is a pretty good listener when it's time to settle down. He does like kids to play with, but be careful playing with smaller toy balls as he may eat them (he's already had one removed). As an older boy, he's looking to retire in a home that will accommodate his golden years and lounge around with the people that he loves. Baron needs help taking care of his joints and takes a couple supplements a day to keep the vets away and keep him moving.
If you think you have the space in your heart and home for this giant softie, please inquire further!

5 AUG 2024 · Introducing Chance, a handsome 2-year-old Lab mix who's on the lookout for a specific home. If you're seeking a canine companion and happen to live in a rural environment, we may have the pup for you!
Chance would be best suited as the only pet in the home and thrive in an environment with limited animals around, allowing him to focus on the bond he forms with his owner. Chance does have a keen eye and interest in chasing smaller creatures, so he will always need to be on a leash during walks, be mindful he may try to chase all the squirrels!
Chance has a knack for being an escape artist extraordinaire! He's always up for a little adventure, so he requires a secure space and monitoring. With some creativity and patience, you can help him channel his curiosity in a positive way.
While he enjoys his human company, Chance prefers a home without young children. Teenagers who understand and respect his boundaries may be a better fit. Chance is a smart pup, and he's eager to learn and please. However, he has quite the personality that requires an experienced owner who can provide structured training and consistency. With the right guidance, Chance can shine!
If you can check all his boxes, please reach out to us at BHS to give Chance.. a chance! He is ready to be out of the shelter environment and in a home!
