28 SEP 2021 · Welcome to the ninth episode of the AGA podcast!
I know catchy title! But it was all on purpose, to draw your attention to this important topic.
Too often we use superficial references to the brain, neurobiology. As trainers, we have little knowledge on this topic. When we talk about emotions we make assumptions and risk errors.
To change sensation first focus on changing the contingency that is facilitating it. Always operationalize what you mean when you say "he is angry". otherwise "angry" is just another label. It's not debatable that animals experience sensations, emotions, and present emotional behaviors. But the meaning of these sensations is what we, humans, are adding into it. Always operationalize what you mean when you say "he is angry". otherwise "angry" is just another label. Labels won't help you solve problems. They are just muddying the waters.
I hope that this episode will you “emotional about emotions” and help you look into his topic from the perspective of how we can use this knowledge to help our animals!
See you in two weeks! In the meantime… BEHAVE yourself!
13 SEP 2021 · Welcome to the eighth episode of AGA podcast!
I am back on track and podcast is scheduled on regular timeline every two weeks!
How do you know it is good enough?
In a world where access to information is unlimited, the choices become overwhelming.
We can actually dive deep into the tiniest detail of our lives and start to find problems where there aren’t any!
It happens so often with dog training - you have access to so much information you can use to become a better caregiver, teacher. Still, suddenly choices become paralyzing, and you stop doing anything. You freeze! You shut down entirely and decide you are the crappiest caregiver in the world, especially if you keep seeing all these fantastic trainers on the internet.
Check out this episode to find out more about this topic!
But remember, “better is often the enemy of good”

12 JUL 2021 · Welcome to the seventh episode of AGA podcast!
Welcome back after the break! This is the seventh episode of AGA podcast!
I had a wonderful time on my vacation, and right now I have come back with more energy and ideas than ever! Thank you for sticking up with me!
The topic of this episode is one of the hottest thing we discuss in the animal training world!
CHOICE!
When was the last time you asked your dog what he wants? If he wants to work with you? Does your dog know he has a choice not to work? Does he know how to communicate it to you? Do you know when he communicates it to you? The choice is what defines not only R+ training but merely a happy and willing work partner. Without it, we can move any further in pursuing an engaged and active dog.
In this episode we will analyze the concept of choice in training but also in everyday life with our animals.
1️⃣ What is choice and how can we define it?
2️⃣ Why is choice so important?
3️⃣ How to teach choice?
4️⃣ What to do if you can’t accept NO?
For those of you interested in exploring the concept of choice more thoroughly I have prepared a 10% discount for my courses in the Fall! 🤩🤩🤩

Progress, not perfection - why I don’t have an imposter syndrome
Imposter syndrome a pattern of behavior in which people (even ones with advanced skills and knowledge) doubt their abilities and experience fear of being exposed and considered a fraud
💪5 tips on how you can deal with imposter syndrome!
➡️ Assess yourself not comparing to perfection but toward the others in a similar situation.
➡️ The best version of me - how would I handle it
➡️ Not perfection but progress
➡️ How good can you be? Can you better than yesterday?
➡️ It is your story to tell; your input is valuable. Others may have equally good or even better skills; education, but they don’t have your learning history!

17 APR 2021 · Welcome to the fourth episode of Aga Podcast
Attention Please! Will the real focus please stand up!
Before we start teaching our learners complicated behaviors and advanced concepts, we need to teach them how to learn. This course focuses on building one of the most important skills our dogs need in training; focus.
When we talk about concentration, we mean a set of behaviors. We can say that those are prerequisite behaviors that we teach not only as significant in themselves but as necessary to teach other behaviors. Their goal is to increase productivity in teaching other behaviors. We may call them “on task” behaviors.
Most importantly it is a skill we need to learn and teach! Too often we take it for granted and we require our dogs to „just have it”. But unless we operationalize it and define clear criteria - there are few chances we will be successful!
6 practical tips on how you can improve your dog’s focus! More about each point - in the newsletter!
1️⃣ Operationalize focus!
2️⃣ Give your dog time to acclimate!
3️⃣ Rules apply both ways
4️⃣ Clarity of the training session!
5️⃣ Less is more!
6️⃣ Use food as an assessment tool!

„I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.”
Bruce Lee
Welcome to the third episode of the Aga Podcast!
Everyone makes errors. The best musicians make errors. How they handle, it will tell you how good they are!
The best musicians have the skill of going forward from the error. They can play themselves out of these errors, these rabbit holes. It is either unnoticeable for the public, or you can simply marvel at how they do it.
⚫️ 3 TAKE OUT POINTS!
✔️ DEFINE THE SKILLS YOU NEED TO MOVE FORWARD FROM ERROR!
✔️ BE LIKE BRUCE LEE: PRACTICE VERTICALLY AND HORIZONTALLY
✔️ ERRORS ARE FEEDBACK ON YOUR LEARNING HISTORY UNDER THESE CIRCUMSTANCES
If you practice one behavior across various conditions, both vertically and horizontally, you will acquire bulletproof skills and handle every error.
Resilience: ability to bounce back - in my dictionary, it means you have generalized certain skills across various conditions, and you can use them effectively.

What is the one thing successful people have in common?
Intentionally or not, they have learned to use the rules that govern our behavior.
5 rules you need to know:
✔︎ Your behavior is lawful
✔︎ Focus on the observable and operationalize what you can see
✔︎ Consequences drive behavior. Antecedents set the stage!
✔︎ Errors ARE not necessary.
✔︎ DOs NOT Don’ts
