14 DEC 2015 · A traditional song, from I don't know when the first recordings of it occurred. A collection of songs I recorded while in that purgatory of songwriting: the infamous dry spell, the emptiness in the soul, the turning blade of doubt in the gut...is it all over? I started playing these songs, and, at first, just recording them simply, me and the guitar. The rest fell into place. A lot of it could use some fine tuning, better rythem section, bass lines and stuff, but I like it like this either way.
It may be a cure for the dry spell, or it may have just been one of those small things that rolled and got bigger until it stopped at the bottom, but I feel as if these songs I covered saved my hide in some weird way. I feel like my time and soul wasn't wasted on these recordings. I feel like I had something to do with their creation.
I hope you enjoy listening to them as much as I enjoyed recording them.
Cheers,
Andy
