Episode 17 - Drinking Between the Sheets

3 MAR 2022 · Here's another episode of Tipsy Tarot Cards! This time Kris and Jack are mixing up a drink known as Between the Sheets, and drinking it to celebrate Valentines Day. This video has been a little bit delayed, but nonetheless we hope you can enjoy it. The Drink - As our friends from Liquor.com tell us, "The Between the Sheets starts as a Sidecar but diverges with a measure of light rum and skips the customary sugared rim. This two-spirit base lends complexity, merging the rich oak and fruit notes of cognac with the dry, tropical notes of light rum." This drink was absolutely delicious, and we can recommend it to any viewers / listeners who enjoy floral and tropical drinks. The Cards - The Modern Love Tarot deck is said to help people navigate relationships, past, present, or future. It has the nice magnetic flap that Jack enjoys so much in a Tarot deck, vibrant artwork, and a guidebook that is easy to handle and read. We had a really fun time diving into the deck and seeing what sorts of insights we could pull from it. We hope that you are striving towards happiness and health, as we are! May your week be filled with peace, love, joy, and a little tipsy tarot. Kris & Jack

    Episode 16 - Sub-Lowbrow Tarot

19 FEB 2022 · Welcome to the lowbrow episode, where the drinks and the cards align with our substandard bartending, tarot reading, and humor. The Drink - Drinks don’t get much more basic than the Boilermaker. When your week has been too crappy for beer to do the job … too crappy to want to spend the time mixing up something interesting and complicated … too crappy to have more than one whiskey because you just know that wouldn’t be a good idea … then your week has been just crappy enough for a Boilermaker. One shot of whiskey. One beer. There are two ways to make the boilermaker. One is to drop a shot glass full of whiskey into a pint glass of beer. The other is a shot of whiskey, followed separately by sipping on the beer. In our Lowbrow Episode, we opted for this second version of the Boilermaker. The Cards - The lowbrow movement was an underground visual art movement that developed in Los Angeles in the late 1960s, with roots in punk music and street culture. It’s art with a sense of humor that is sarcastic and somewhat impish. The Lowbrow Tarot Deck reflects the LA Lowbrow Art movement. The deck consists of 22 Major Arcana cards. The artwork is a collaboration of 23 artists, who each produced cards in their own unique style. Each artist’s website is included if you want to view more of their creations. The artwork is interesting, but the readings felt limited without the Minor Arcana. We’d love it if you’d give us a like and a follow, and leave us a comment. Do you have a question you’d like us to ask the cards? Let us know. May your week be filled with peace, love, joy, and a little tipsy tarot. Kris & Jack

  • Episode 14 - 2022 or 2020, too?

10 JAN 2022 · Hey there, you adult beverage and tarot card loving people. In episode 14 we look at what 2022 has in store for us. It looks like a whole lot more change is on the horizon and that 2022 might be a lot like 2020, too. We also learn than alcohol, topped with alcohol, and mixed in with more alcohol, is a drink better left to professionals, like James Bond.

    Episode 13 - Jingle Juicing

30 DEC 2021 · Hey there, you adult beverage and tarot card loving people. In episode 13 we celebrate the Yule Season divinely, with a beverage that will make you jingle all the way home. The Drink If you are interested in a simple, flavorful, and beautiful make-ahead holiday punch for your guests this season, Jingle Juice fits the bill nicely. This punch includes Whipped Vodka, Sparkling Rose, and Cherry 7-Up with a cranberry garnish. The recipe serves sixteen. Since we’re not the biggest fans of sweet drinks, we added a dash of Luxardo to enhance the cherry flavor. The website that published this cocktail has a number of other fun holiday drinks that look worth trying. The Cards The Tarot of the Divine seemed like a suitable deck for a time of year that is celebrated by many cultures and religions. This deck is inspired by deities, folklore, and fairy tales from around the world. It’s beautifully illustrated with rich, vibrant images accompanied by an instructional book that explains how the fables support traditional tarot imagery and themes. The guidebook is full-color and gives explanations of the folk and fairy tales behind each card. We were impressed with the diversity of the folklore used in the deck. It spans the globe. If you are a folklore fan, you will likely really enjoy this deck. The cardstock is fairly thick and textured and shuffles well and the book is colorful and concise. The deck comes in a sturdy box that seems like it would stand up to a lot of use and storage. We’d love it if you’d give us a like and a follow, and leave us a comment. Do you have a question you’d like us to ask the cards? Let us know. May our week be filled with peace, love, joy, and a little tipsy tarot. • Episode 12 - It’s Not Easy Being Green

18 DEC 2021 · Hey there, you adult beverage and tarot card loving people. In episode 12 we learn it’s not easy being green. Okay, so that was originally intended for frogs, or one specific frog, but it also applies to those with resting Grinch faces. We contemplate why Grinches are grinchy and recount our own version of the Grinch origin story, which may or may not involve an office party and the inappropriate use of a copy machine, and conclude that hugs are good for the soul. • Episode 11 - Technical Tragedies and Deja Vu All Over Again

10 DEC 2021 · Hey there, you adult beverage and tarot card loving people. We hope you join us in Episode 11 to see how we f**k things up big time. After we finished the show, we discovered we’d maxed out storage space and failed to record half the episode. So, after a bit of swearing, we refilled our drinks and Jack got a second reading. Sadly, the lost first take was alcohol induced tarot card brilliance and you will never witness the magic that happened at the tarot table.

  • Episode 9 - Sorry OSHO, you blow-sho

27 NOV 2021 · Hey there, you adult beverage and tarot card loving people. Welcome to Episode 9 of Tipsy Tarot Cards. Thanksgiving 2019 we found an OSHO tarot deck at the Airbnb we were staying at. We’d had a long day of driving in bad weather, and decided to crack open a bottle of Pendleton 1910 we’d brought along to share with our host on Thanksgiving, and drank the evening away doing tarot card readings over Facetime. In Episode 9 we kinda sorta recreate this first experience, but with significantly less whiskey than the first time around, and without drunk-dialing Jack’s girlfriend.
