4 MAR 2024 · He’s got the bug! Jon Wallace is as passionate now about volleyball as he was 40 something years ago when he started playing on the Newport sand courts. In addition to playing in the national championship himself and leading a team to the Final Four, Jon lives, eats and breathes the sport. Jon also loves to talk about marketing strategies, mental approach, branding, and more. He also has an opinion or 10 about recruiting both as a coach and as a parent. Before his son Joe went on to play at UC Santa Barbara, Jon coached him at Nationals multiple times. Jon has both coached for and against his middle daughter Whitney, who is headed to play at University of Oklahoma.

21 FEB 2024 · The Spin Chicks meet up with another “Gamecock Diva,” Shevon Stoddart Nieto. Shevon’s story is one of resilience, love and navigating through unexpected challenges. A two-time Olympian, Shevon hurdled on the University of South Carolina’s first-ever NCAA championship team. While training for her third Olympics, Shevon’s partner, Jamie Nieto, an Olympic high jumper, suffered a serious training injury that changed both of their lives. Shevon shares their remarkable journey, showcasing their triumphs amidst the impact of tragedy. Now married with two kids, her story with Jamie has been so inspiring! 1 FEB 2024 · When Olympian Natasha Hastings hung up her spikes, she wanted the world to know she was more than just someone who runs fast. She put an exclamation point on her career with a final post on the Player’s Tribute when she officially retired in 2022. Since, she has embarked on a new chapter focused on utilizing her drive, determination, and influence to address critical issues surrounding mental health. Natasha completed her master’s degree in clinical mental health in 2023 and is on a mission to make a difference. Talking with The Spin Chicks, Natasha emphasizes the significance of mental health awareness and advocates for its importance within communities, particularly those she is closely connected to. Her focus on making a difference within the communities she knows best underscores her commitment to effecting positive change and providing valuable resources to those who may need them the most.

30 JAN 2024 · Natasha Hastings has two Olympic medals on her resume as well as a number of NCAA and US titles. The sprinter became known as the 400M Diva while competing on the elite track and field squad at the University of South Carolina, where she also met Michelle. Natasha takes The Spin Chicks on a journey from her early days as a sprinter to her experiences in the professional ranks and with the U.S. Olympic team. Her story touches on the challenges, triumphs, and dedication required to reach the pinnacle of success in the highly competitive world of track and field. Off the track, Natasha continues her work as an Under Armour Ambassador. She has established herself as a role model for aspiring athletes, inspiring them not only through her achievements but also through her dedication, resilience, and commitment to excellence both on and off the track.

23 JAN 2024 · The Spin Chicks continue the conversation with Erik Kimrey in this episode. Erik may be known as the head football coach at Baylor School in Chattanooga, but he is famous in South Carolina and across the SEC for throwing “the fade” off the bench in a win over Mississippi State in 2000 as the understudy to starting QB Phil Petty. Erik reflects on that day on the gridiron and so much more. As a philosophy teacher for 10 years at Hammond School, Erik drops plenty of nuggets on living a good life and coaching ball.
