The inspiration behind the Book of the Dead is to shed light on cases and victims that have gone, more or less unnoticed by the media and in other podcasts, instead of focusing on more famous or sensationalized cases, the Book of the Dead does what it can to put focus on the the ones that are more obscure. Chapter 81: Death in the Family-The Barron Family Murders
24 JUL 2024 · When Irene Paget met John Barron, she thought she would have the life she had always wanted: to be a wife and mother. However, Jack Barron was not who Irene thought he was. He was overbearing, obsessed with his appearance, and flew off the handle at everything that displeased him. When a string of deaths occur within the family, the community rallies to support poor Jack Barron who seems to have lost it all, until people start asking questions. One sudden death is a tragedy, but four looks like murder.

Chapter 79: Without A Trace-The Disappearance of Wesley Dale Morgan
26 JUN 2024 · In the spring of 2001, 2-year-old Wesley Morgan lived in Clinton, Louisiana with his 19-year-old mother, Ruby Harvard, and her boyfriend, 37-year-old Burnell Hilton Jr. He was a happy toddler, who loved to play and learn. Still, on the morning of May 15th, a mother's worst nightmare becomes a reality when Wesley vanishes from the family home without a trace. 23 years later, Wesley's case is cold, and authorities are adamant that Ruby is not telling the truth about what happened on that fateful day.

29 MAY 2024 · In October of 1978, off the coast of Cape Otway flew the 20-year-old Australian pilot, Frederick Valentich. According to the Radio Exchange he had with radio controller Steve Robey, Frederick reported an aircraft flying above him, but Steve verified that there was no air traffic in that area. Soon after, in correspondence that would baffle Robey and those who saw the transcript after the fact, Frederick would tell Steve that the vessel flying over him was not an aircraft at all. After this shocking revelation, Frederick would disappear with no trace of him or his plane ever to be found. Chapter 75: A Mother's Fight for Answers-The Murder of Deverrie Schiller
3 APR 2024 · Today, in collaboration with Debi Fones, we bring you the story of her daughter, Deverrie Schiller. Deverrie was murdered in June of 2016, and, since then, Debi has been fighting for answers as to what happened. With a lack of suspects and a police force with even fewer resources, it has been an up hill battle, but Debi won't stop until she sees someone arrested for her daughter's murder. We share this story in the hopes that this will happen, because whether the DA wants to move forward or not, Debi is sure she knows who killed Deverrie.
