    6 - MIA Pro-Palestine Protest & Iran vs Israel (4.18.24)

18 APR 2024 · On this episode of the anthrotographer I cover another recent protest that I attended, as well as the latest developments between Israel and Iran. To skip my long winded intro and get to the interviews and sounds of the protest go to (11:30). Listen to what the people at the event had to say. You'll hear from Palestinian Americans, Jewish Americans, and many other concerned people. And if you can, please support these GoFundMe's and/or other sources that are helping Palestinians survive the ongoing Genocide: https://gofund.me/f66d23d6 https://gofund.me/d661a1e6 Links: - (IG) https://www.instagram.com/theblack_jacobin/ - (Web) https://anthrotographer.com - (Substack) https://anthrotographer.tumblr.com - (X) https://twitter.com/anthrotographer - (Instagram) https://www.instagram.com/thee.anthrotographer/ - (YouTube) https://youtube.com/@theanthrotographer2127?si=qm4OMYjXHDAIEIF_ Music: - ‘at least i dont have it all’ by Persian Empire

  • 5 - Ceasefire Now, Parkland Vigil & Profits Over Life

28 MAR 2024 · On this episode of the anthrotographer I cover a recent protest that I attended. It was a protest/vigil honoring those that were killed in the 2018 Parland, FL mass shooting and those that have been killed in Gaza in recent months. Vice President Kamala Harris was visiting Marjory Stoneman Douglas Highschool recently and this event focused on protesting the U.S. government, which she leads, that values the profits of weapons manufacturers above human life. To skip my long winded intro go to (11:00).  Listen to what the people at the event had to say. You'll hear from Palestinians, past MSD students, and many other concerned Americans. And if you can, please support these GoFundMe's and/or other sources that are helping Palestinians survive the ongoing Genocide: https://gofund.me/f66d23d6 https://gofund.me/d661a1e6 Socials: - (X) https://twitter.com/anthrotographer - (Instagram) https://www.instagram.com/thee.anthrotographer/ - (YouTube) https://youtube.com/@theanthrotographer2127?si=qm4OMYjXHDAIEIF_ - (Tumblr) https://anthrotographer.tumblr.com - (Web) https://anthrotographer.com Music: 'Inn Ann' by Daboor, Shabjdeed

  • 4 - Palestine/Israel, Political Lives of Dead Bodies & I Am Cuba

21 FEB 2024 · The word of the week is; Interesting. In this episode of 'the anthrotographer' I spoke on some thought provoking movies I've seen recently, the first being 'Planet of the Apes' (3:45). A sci-fi classic that in a way humbles humanity in its portrayal of our devolution. I felt compelled to talk about the most important active event in world affairs; the genocide happening in Palestine (20:45). I try to discuss it in a thoughtful way with some historical context. But a better podcast to check out on the subject is 'Bad Faith'. I spend some time talking about some passages in the book 'The Political Lives of Dead Bodies' (40:25). And finish off with some ramblings on the classic 1960s film 'I Am Cuba' (55:20). • 3 - Weed Dependency, White Men Can't Jump & The Sixth Extinction

5 OCT 2023 · In this episode of 'the anthrotographer' I spoke on Marijuana dependency both in a personal way and referencing the scientic evidence. I give my thoughts on the classic basketball movie 'White Men Can't Jump'. And finally go over one of my favorite books called 'The Sixth Extinction'. It is an eye opening and scary read that should act as a great wake up call for humanity. Music: 'Stay Blessed' by Genesis Owusu

  • 2 - Planet of the Humans, Oppenheimer & The Jungle

6 AUG 2023 · In this recording I start out by talking about the medium of podcasting and how other shows inspired me to get into it. Then I spend the majority of the pod discussing a few powerful films I've seen recently. 'Planet of the Humans' is a documentary about climate change, the effects of human expansion and the dissapointing and doom inducing realities of the "green energy movement". 'Oppenheimer' is another one where I get into the awesome power of the bomb and human fallibility. There is a small music jam session in the middle there. I play a clip or two of the renowned scientist James Lovelock answering questions about the future of earth's habitability. And finally at the end I review a few chapters of Upton Sinclair's famous novel 'The Jungle'. Of which I will revisit in a future episode. I know, it's a bleak rundown. Not every episode will be like this. Music: 'Gretel' - Alex G

  • 1 - Octopus Plants, Intellectual Property, & Manufacturing Consent Pt. 1

27 SEP 2022 · This was the first episode so I was a bit nervous and novice to the process. I talked about a striking invasive tree that I found in my neighborhood. Then I covered for the majority of the episode Noam Chomsky's documentary called 'Manufacturing Consent: Noam Chomsky and the Media'. It is an eye opening film about how we are all under a sort of thought control that benefits an unequal and imperialistic society. It's heavy stuff and I will revisit it in the next few recordings probably. I also went on a tangent about the concept of Intellectual Property because it feels like a ridiculous inhumane concept. Music: 'Above Below' - Eddie Chacon

‘the anthrotographer’ is a pod interested in studying the human condition and creating new media inspired by what's learned. We enjoy discussing weighty themes in films, books, history, current events or whatever the hell else interests us. With some educational background in both Anthropology & Video Production (plus amateur independent researching) hopefully what is created both provokes thought and is informed.
