Why I'm Proud The Popeyes Chicken Sandwich Stabbing Happened In DC — Papa's Basement Podcast 615

12 NOV 2019 · People love the Popeyes chicken sandwich. You know why? We are fat slobs that have no respect for our bodies, we want to be a part of anything we think is somehow exclusive while also costing us under $5, and we are all really cool with being Adolph Hitler to birds. Everyone has been posting crazy Popeyes chicken sandwich stories, like the footage of a woman smashing her car up to cut in a drive through line for one, but the DMV area is home to my favorite two debacles to come out of this delicacy's release: A man getting stabbed because he cut in line for the sandwich, and one of the Popeyes in my backyard getting caught on tape assembling their sandwiches on top of a trash bin. God help me, I love it all. On top of that, Eva and I talk Terminator: Dark Fate (which is currently eating shit at the box office harder than some creature from Greek myth that has its lips glued to its ass by Zeus for speaking lies), which cast member displays their unbelievably amazing ass multiple times in the film (it still might be Schwarzenegger, the man has been doing squats since 1884), and the horrific behavior of the people I sat next to in the theater (I wish they had cut a certain person in line at Popeyes). Comedy Writer Mike Sacks Talks His New Audio Book, Passable in Pink

31 OCT 2019 · Mike Sacks is a singularly gifted comedy writer, author of the indispensable humor tomes And Here’s the Kicker and Poking a Dead Frog. His tireless work ethnic eventually took him into the realm of audio book originals, including Stinker Lets Loose and Why Not #MeToo?!. His latest, Passable in Pink, is a satirical homage to the John Hughes films of the 80s, and boasts an A-list cast, including Adam Scott, Gillian Jacobs, Bobby Moynihan, and Bob Odenkirk. Mike’s interview is a true gem, and we ping pong from Passable in Pink to his overmedicated childhood, why he receives constant gay fan mail intended for another man, his long-standing beef with Ferris Bueller, which The Breakfast Club character he identifies with most now that he’s in his 40s, stories from being a 17-year-old undergrad in New Orleans, and how the Baltimore Orioles factor into his OCD, just to scratch the surface. Mr. Sacks is a gem and a delight, so do yourself a favor, listen to the episode, and pre-order Passable in Pink on Audible by clicking the link. (If it's your first book, Audible will even give it to you for free.) Mike Sacks runs both a fantastic Twitter account (@MichaelBSacks) and a hilarious Instagram (@MikeBSacks) that typically features the covers of insane books from his personal collection. Where Is Thumbkin? — Papa's Basement 613

28 OCT 2019 · Eva...and Thumbkin. I (all too soon, apparently) celebrate the World Series success of the Washington Nationals, which really hit the spot given 1. The Redskins suck and it's time to move on and 2. I grew up playing baseball (fat kid outfielders unite), and really missed it. But the highlight of the episode is the finale, where Joe voices a certain part of Eva's anatomy in a way that creeps her out deeply and genuinely.
