28 APR 2024 · Stan Jefferson, Superintendent of the Mansfield City Schools, and Tom Hager, Campus Administrator at the Malabar Intermediate School, share all the details of their "Peace on my block Community Fair", which is scheduled for May 16th at Arlin Field.

18 APR 2024 · A longtime softball event, now in its 31st year, has a new name and a new location. Formerly known as the Wendy’s Spring Classic held in Ashland, will take place this Friday and Saturday at Marshall Park in Ontario, and is now called: The Mid-Ohio Spring Classic. Director John Davis said, the move is because of the turf infields at Marshall Park.  20 teams in total will complete, both local and some of the tops teams from across the state.  The event in 30 years has provided nearly $139,000 in scholarships to area softball players. Admission is $8 each day or $12 for both days.

15 APR 2024 · Mansfield native and St. Peter's graduate (2000), Matt Failor, made the 4,000 mile trek from Alaska back to the Mid-Oho area and stopped by the WMAN (iHeart Radio studio) to visit with Aaron Hines during Local Talk o Monday, April 15th.. Matt shares about living in Alaska, taking part in the Iditarod, what he does on a daily basis and the food he has to have when he comes back home.

5 APR 2024 · The Mid-Ohio area is preparing for a possible uptick in traffic this weekend and on through early next week, due to being in the path of the total solar eclipse. Mansfield Post Commander, Lt. Jason Murfield, was on Local Talk with Aaron Hines, Friday, April 5th, to gives some tips for residents and travelers that roadways could be busier than normal.  Murfield said, there could be delays and just to be aware and prepared.

5 APR 2024 · Dr. Julie Chaya, Health Commissioner at Richland Public Health, in her monthly public health update, explains about the new PUP Program in the county and all about the Richland County Imagination Library, where kids can receive a free book each month. Julie joined WMAN this week to share about the free programs for Richland County residents.

5 APR 2024 · Bob Dibiasio, Senior Vice President of Public Relations with the Cleveland Guardians, spent time chatting with WMAN's Aaron Hines this week about the teams great start to the 2024 season.  Cleveland is 6-2 and has scored 50 runs in 8 games, while allowing just 20. Bobby D visits with WMAN every Wednesday morning at 8:40 am during the baseball season - presented by Home and Kitchen Supply in downtown Mansfield.

5 APR 2024 · Mansfield mayor, Jodie Perry, dropped by WMAN to share the latest her office is working on across town.  Jodie visits with Aaron Hines on Local Talk each month to give the residents a report on all the projects going on around the city.

30 MAR 2024 · The 45th News Journal All-Star Classic was held at Lexington High School on Friday, March 29th.  Amarr Davis (Mansfield Christian) of the South team, coached by Mansfield Christian's Cary Craner, took home MVP honors with a big 2nd half, as his team had a huge 2nd half, where they outscored the North, 54-35. Davis had 17 in the game, while teammate Logan Toms (Lucas) tied a game high 19 points to help lead their team to the win. The North squad, coached by Shelby's Greg Gallaway, was led by the Whippets Issaiah Ramsey with 19 points. Malachi Bayless of Bucyrus poured in 17, Trevor Vogt from Col. Crawford added 14 and Ontario's Grady Schroeder chipped in 10. Lucas coach, Taylor Iceman, joined Aaron Hines on the broadcast. Click here to listen to the entire game.

28 MAR 2024 · Tom Hamilton, long time radio play-by-play voice of the Cleveland Guardians, spent the morning previewing the season with WMAN.  Hamilton is entering his 35th year behind the microphone calling games and is one of the very best in the game.  Hammy, as he is known, shared with Aaron Hines about starting pitching with Shane Bieber, Tanner Bibee expected to lead the way for Cleveland.  The Guardians have a new manager, Stephen Vogt, and some really good prospects that are knocking on the door to helping the big league club.  Hamilton will talk about ballpark renovations are Progressive Field and who is expected to be the top teams in the AL Central Division.

27 MAR 2024 · Shelby coach, Greg Gallaway, sat down on Wednesday with Aaron Hines to chat about their historic season, which saw the Whippets reach the state tournament for the 1st time in school history.  Shelby won a school record 25 games, 19 straight wins, along with incredible crowds that followed their amazing journey to Dayton.  The district wide pep rally had close to 2,000 people in the gym, 1,800 students, which was the first time to have all students in the gym for a pep rally.  Gallaway is also the coach in Friday's 45th annual News Journal All-Star Classic at Lexington and previews the event.
