That is, until the 3rd day, the Sunday, when an angel rolled the stone of the tomb away. The Pharisees made up a story, but the story we celebrate on Easter Sunday is the one we heard from the disciples and the women about Jesus coming alive again. But which story do you believe? Bible Passage: John 12:1-6 "Six days before Passover Jesus went back to Bethany, where he had raised Lazarus from death.A meal had been prepared for Jesus. Martha was doing the serving, and Lazarus himself was there. Mary took a very expensive bottle of perfume and poured it on Jesus' feet. Apparently the bottle was worth 300 silver coins! It was perfume called nard, or spikenard, which I have some essential oil and it smells great, very earthy. My bottle is 15mL with a lid but Mary’s bottle was 350mL with no lid! Mary wiped Jesus’ feet with her hair, and the sweet smell of the perfume filled the house. A disciple named Judas Iscariot was there. He was the one who was going to betray Jesus, and he asked,“Why wasn't this perfume sold for 300 silver coins and the money given to the poor?” Judas did not really care about the poor. He asked this because he carried the moneybag and sometimes would steal from it.
Bible Passage: Matt 26:10-16 Jesus knew what they were thinking, and he said: “Why are you bothering this woman? She has done a beautiful thing for me. You will always have the poor with you, but you won't always have me. She has poured perfume on my body to prepare it for burial. You may be sure that wherever the good news is told all over the world, people will remember what she has done. And they will tell others.” Judas Iscariot was one of the twelve disciples. He went to the chief priests and asked, “How much will you give me if I help you arrest Jesus?” They paid Judas 30 silver coins, and from then on he started looking for a good chance to betray Jesus.
Bible Passage: John 12:9-11 A lot of people came when they heard that Jesus was there. They also wanted to see Lazarus, because Jesus had raised him from death.So the chief priests made plans to kill Lazarus. He was the reason that many of the people were turning from them and putting their faith in Jesus.

20 FEB 2023 · Bible Passage: Jonah 3:5-10 “They believed God's message and set a time when they would go without eating to show their sorrow. Then everyone in the city, no matter who they were, dressed in sackcloth. 6 When the king of Nineveh heard what was happening, he also dressed in sackcloth; he left the royal palace and sat in dust. 7-9 Then he and his officials sent out an order for everyone in the city to obey. It said: None of you or your animals may eat or drink a thing. Each of you must wear sackcloth, and you must even put sackcloth on your animals. You must also pray to the Lord God with all your heart and stop being sinful and cruel. Maybe God will change his mind and have mercy on us, so we won't be destroyed. 10 When God saw that the people had stopped doing evil things, he had pity and did not destroy them as he had planned.” Our sins are a blockage for us being friends with God. The only way to get rid of the block is to say sorry and repent for our sins. Bible Passage: Matt 4:17 Then Jesus started preaching, “Repent! Turn back to God! The kingdom of heaven will soon be here.” Bible Passage: 1 John 1:9 “But if we confess our sins to God, he can always be trusted to forgive us and take our sins away.”

- How do you feel when you have done something wrong, something terrible, and you wish you hadn’t done it? What do you do?
- If you are sorry for your sins, spend some time praying together right now, wherever you are, confessing your sins to God, repenting and turning back to God.
