17 MAR 2025 · Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Proverbs 30:33
“Surely the churning of milk bringeth forth butter, and the wringing of the nose bringeth forth blood: so the forcing of wrath bringeth forth strife.”
PROVERBS 30:33
DEVOTION
Based on Proverbs 30
This proverb vividly illustrates how stirring up anger inevitably leads to conflict. Just as churning milk makes butter and wringing the nose causes bleeding, forcing wrath—holding onto or provoking anger—results in strife and broken relationships.
Unchecked anger doesn’t stay hidden; it produces division and harm. God calls us to practice self-control and to be peacemakers. When we respond with patience rather than fueling anger, we promote harmony and reflect His wisdom.
Take a moment tonight to reflect on any anger that may be stirring in your heart. Breathe out frustration, and breathe in God’s peace. Ask Him to help you release wrath and pursue peace in all your relationships.
A.C.T.S. REFLECTION
ADORATION: Praise God for His peace and wisdom that calms strife. Worship Him as the One who calls us to be gentle and peacemakers in a world prone to anger.
CONFESSION: Reflect on times when you’ve allowed anger to fester or stir up conflict. Confess any bitterness or harsh words, and ask God for forgiveness and healing.
THANKSGIVING: Thank God for His patience with you and for teaching you to respond with grace. Express gratitude for the relationships He has restored through His peace.
SUPPLICATION: Father, help me to turn away from wrath and choose peace. Teach me to respond with gentleness and patience, even in difficult situations. Let Your wisdom guide my words and actions so I may bring harmony, not strife, into my relationships.
PRAYER
“Surely the churning of milk bringeth forth butter, and the wringing of the nose bringeth forth blood: so the forcing of wrath bringeth forth strife.”
PROVERBS 30:33
Dear God, We ask for Your guidance and wisdom in our daily lives as we navigate feelings of anger and desires for revenge. Help us to recognize the destructive power of our words and to use them carefully and intentionally. May we speak truth in love and use our words to build others up, rather than tear them down. We pray for the strength to resist the temptation to gossip, complain or speak harshly, and instead to cultivate a heart of gratitude and kindness. May our words reflect Your love and grace, and may our lives bring glory to You. In Jesus' name, Amen. 🙏🏾

16 MAR 2025 · Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 James 1:20
For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.
JAMES 1:20
DEVOTION
Based on James 1
This verse reminds us that human anger does not accomplish God’s purposes. While there are times we may feel justified in our anger, unchecked wrath often leads to harm rather than healing. Human anger tends to focus on personal offense and retaliation rather than God’s justice and mercy.
God calls us to a higher standard—to respond with patience, grace, and self-control. His righteousness is revealed through anger, love, peace, and understanding. By surrendering our emotions to Him, we become vessels of His grace and reflect His character.
Take a moment tonight to release any anger that may be clouding your heart. Breathe out frustration, and breathe in God’s peace. Ask Him to help you pursue His righteousness through love and gentleness.
A.C.T.S. REFLECTION
ADORATION: Praise God for His perfect justice and patience. Worship Him as the One who rules with mercy and calls us to live in His righteousness.
CONFESSION: Reflect on times when your anger has led you away from God’s ways. Confess any bitterness or frustration that may have clouded your judgment.
THANKSGIVING: Thank God for His grace, which helps you overcome anger. Express gratitude for the patience and self-control He offers through His Holy Spirit.
SUPPLICATION: Father, help me to release my anger and pursue Your righteousness. Teach me to respond with patience and love, reflecting Your character in every situation. Fill my heart with Your peace, and let my actions bring glory to You.
PRAYER
“For the wrath of man worketh not the righteousness of God.”
JAMES 1:20
Dear God, As we come before You today, we pray for Your help in controlling our anger. We confess that at times we have allowed our emotions to get the best of us, and we ask for Your forgiveness and grace. Help us to listen carefully, to speak kindly, and to act justly in all situations. May our lives reflect Your love and grace, even in the face of adversity. We pray for Your guidance and strength to live in this way, trusting in Your transformative power to work in our hearts. In Jesus' name, Amen. 🙏🏾

15 MAR 2025 · Your Nightly Prayer 🙏🏾 Ecclesiastes 7:9
Be not hasty in thy spirit to be angry: for anger resteth in the bosom of fools.”
ECCLESIASTES 7:9
DEVOTION
Based on Ecclesiastes 7
This verse reminds us of the danger of uncontrolled anger. Anger itself is not always sinful, but when it takes root in our hearts, it can lead to foolish decisions, broken relationships, and spiritual harm. Being quick to anger often blinds us to wisdom, causing us to act impulsively rather than seek God’s peace.
We are called to patience and self-control instead of letting anger control us. When we surrender our emotions to God, He helps us respond with grace rather than wrath. True wisdom is found in a heart that seeks understanding instead of reacting hastily.
Take a moment tonight to reflect on how you handle anger. Breathe out frustration, and breathe in God’s peace. Ask Him to help you respond with patience and wisdom, guarding your heart against anger’s grip.
A.C.T.S. REFLECTION
ADORATION: Praise God for His patience and mercy. Worship Him as the One who gives peace and wisdom in moments of frustration.
CONFESSION: Reflect on times when you’ve been quick to anger. Confess any moments where frustration led you away from God’s wisdom, and ask for His help to grow in patience.

ECCLESIASTES 7:9
Dear God, As we reflect on anger and bitterness, we ask for your guidance and wisdom out of foolish outbursts. The discretion of a man deferreth his anger; and it is his glory to pass over a transgression.”
PROVERBS 19:11
DEVOTION
Based on Proverbs 19
This verse teaches that wisdom allows us to be patient and slow to anger. It’s easy to react when we feel wronged, but discretion—the ability to think carefully and act wisely—helps us pause, consider, and respond with grace instead of frustration.

PSALM 37:8
DEVOTION

This verse highlights the power of self-control. In a world that values strength, victory, and dominance, God tells us that true greatness is found in mastering our own emotions. Controlling anger and responding with patience takes more strength than overpowering others.

11 MAR 2025 · Your Daily Prayer 🙏🏾 Deuteronomy 31:6
True success is not measured by personal achievements but by our impact on others lives.
FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT ACTION: PEACE
Find something that brings you joy (a favorite snack, a funny video, a pet) and savor that moment of peace.
Today’s story reflects on Moses’ legacy as a faithful servant who impacted millions by obeying God’s purpose. It reminds us that true success is measured by the positive influence we have on others, not by personal achievements.
STORY
Bible in a Year: The Life of a True Servant
Scripture
Be strong and of good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
Deuteronomy 31:6
King Solomon once wrote that a good name is better than precious treasure and better is the day of someone’s death than their birth. What was he getting at? How could the day of someone’s death be better than their birth?
I think Moses is an excellent example of this truth. Moses left a legacy of faithfulness, courage, miracles, and breakthroughs. His death marked the end of an era of freedom and connection to God for millions of people. His birth was worth celebrating since any child's birth is precious. But what Moses did between his birth and death changed the world forever.
In this Bible in a Year episode, we witness the conclusion of Moses' journey. Standing on Mount Nebo, Moses gazes upon the Promised Land, which he will never enter. This moment encapsulates the essence of legacy and the profound impact of a life dedicated to faithful service. Moses' journey from prince of Egypt to leader of God's people is marked by trials, triumphs, and an unwavering commitment to God's command.
Moses' final act is a testament to the power of vision and faithfulness. His story encourages us to leave the world better than we found it, not just through glorious acts but through consistent dedication to God's will. It reminds us that true success is not measured by personal achievements but by our impact on others' lives.
REFLECTION
Reflect on your own life's journey and the legacy you wish to leave. Consider the ways in which you can serve faithfully in your given roles, impacting those around you positively. Like Moses, focus on fulfilling God's purpose for your life, trusting that your faithfulness will prepare the way for future blessings for others.
PRAYER
Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the Lord thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
DEUTERONOMY 31:6
As the Words of Numbers and Deuteronomy ring loud in my ear, I will remember that life and death stand before me each day. As a new day dawns, blessings and cursing are before me, and I will choose the path of blessings. I declare that I will not stray from Your commands Lord for in them I can find life and life everlasting. Because of my devotion to You, You will promote me in front of Your children. You will make public declaration that You have qualified me by my heart, and not by the words, standards, and accolades. Like Joshua, I will be strong and courageous! I will walk with godfidence because You’ve promised me you’d be with me. Thank You for the Moses in my life who have gone before me and have passed the baton into my hands. Let my life be a living memorial to the dedication and diligence of the mighty men and women of faith who have gone before me. I’m ready… I can do this! In Jesus’ Name, Amen. 🙏🏾

8 MAR 2025 · Your Daily Prayer 🙏🏾 Numbers 22:28
If God can use a donkey to speak truth, He can certainly use anyone.
FRUITS OF THE SPIRIT ACTION: PEACE
Make peace with someone you’ve had tension with—send a text or say a kind word.
Today’s story highlights how God used Balaam’s donkey to deliver truth, demonstrating that He can use even the most unlikely messengers. It challenges us to stay open to God’s voice in unconventional ways and trust that He can use us for His purposes.
STORY
Bible in a Year: God Makes a Donkey Speak
Scripture
Then the Lord opened Balaam’s eyes, and he saw the angel of the Lord standing in the road with his sword drawn. So he bowed low and fell facedown.
Numbers 22:31
God can sometimes speak in wild and unconventional ways. Sometimes, we must let go of what we think is ‘normal’ and embrace the fact that we worship a God who sent a fish to swallow a prophet, walked on water, and made a donkey speak…
Embrace the absurd.
This episode of Bible in a Year recounts the story of Balaam and his donkey. Balak, king of Moab, summons Balaam to curse the Israelites. However, God comes to Balaam at night, instructing him only to speak the words God gives him.
Despite this divine warning, Balaam sets out with the Moabite officials, leading to an angel of the Lord blocking their path, visible only to Balaam's donkey. Balaam's frustration with his donkey's behavior escalates to the point of violence, yet through God's unconventional intervention, the donkey speaks, revealing the angelic presence.
This moment underscores two lessons:
First, God's messages and guidance can come through the most unconventional means. Don’t close yourself off too quickly to the absurd and weird events in life. There might be a message for you.
Second, if God can use a donkey to speak the truth, then He can certainly use you. Stop disqualifying yourself for this flaw or that shortcoming. You’re at least more useful than a donkey. And if He can use a donkey to save a nation, just think about what He can do through you!
REFLECTION
Reflect on the ways you expect to hear from God and consider the possibility that He might be speaking through less conventional means. Are there "donkeys" in your life, unexpected messengers or circumstances through which God is trying to get your attention? This week, make an effort to be more attentive to the unlikely ways God might be communicating with you.
PRAYER
And the Lord opened the mouth of the ass, and she said unto Balaam, What have I done unto thee, that thou hast smitten me these three times?
NUMBERS 22:28
When I begin to take territory on Your behalf, Lord, I thank You in advance for protecting me against the plots and plans of others to curse my life and to create chaos. However in the midst of Your protection, Lord, protect me from myself when I try to move on my own accord. Like Balaam and his donkey I know that You can and will use any sign to stop me from moving in a direction You do not desire me to go. Therefore, keep my mind attentive and alert to see the signs that You’ve placed around my life to protect me. Open my eyes and my ears so that I can hear Your message through different vessels. I decree and declare that I will not allow pride to get in the way of my protection. You have my heart, You have my ears and You have my unwavering devotion, now and forever! In Jesus’ Name, Amen. 🙏🏾
