12 OCT 2026 · The Burned ID, the Vine Tattoo, and the Quiet Six-Year Vanish
A scorched driver's license found in a fire ring revealed a photograph that did not match the name on the card, sparking a twenty-two-month manhunt that uncovered a nine-year embezzlement scheme of more than $800,000 - but the case turned on a tiny tattoo visible in old photos. Who recognized that wrong face and how did a vine tattoo become the thread that unraveled a disappearance?
In this episode, we follow the discovery that set federal marshals on a trail from a creek-side fishing cabin to a long-hidden paper trail, tracing the steps from a burned license to the missing bookkeeper and the man who left his car at Harrisburg International Airport; can a small inked vine solve a six-year vanish?
Person: Emily Green
Event: burned driver's license found in a fire ring
Date: Tuesday morning in August
Location: Granger County
Amount: more than $800,000

11 OCT 2026 · The Bowl, The Cat, and the Girl Who Vanished for Ten Years
Fear curls around routine: a one-eyed tabby eating from an orange ceramic fish bowl at 6:15 every morning became the trace that kept a vanished girl from disappearing completely - but why did it take a decade for that bowl to matter, and who was watching the habit that named her? Find out how a cheap pet bowl and a church pen-pal letter threaded through federal material-witness files to pull a ghost back into daylight.
In this episode, we follow the case file from a driveway killing on Birch Mill Lane through a decade-long missing-persons limbo to the moment a federal marshal recognizes a deliberate routine; the episode covers the death, the mother’s conviction, the girl’s flight with her cat Biscuit, and the curious delivery that reopened the trail - what did that bowl finally reveal?
Person: Emily Edwards
Event: Death of Gene Pollard on Birch Mill Lane
Date: October 2004
Status: Material witness warrant active for ten years

10 OCT 2026 · The Boot at Dawn: How a Single Shoe Cracked a Silent Fugitive
A single left work boot, upright and dry, sat on a concrete outfall with the morning Kelso Courier folded inside its shaft - eleven days without rain and no footprints nearby. That one shoe became the first visible thread in a sixteen-day manhunt for a handyman charged in a deadly fire: what did it mean, and who was leaving it there?
In this episode, we follow the sequence of discoveries from a Kelso pond to the charges against a fugitive, tracing the investigative steps that tied a missing work order to two deaths and a disappearance; how did one boot pull an entire manhunt into view?

9 OCT 2026 · The Book That Betrayed Her: How a Library Copy Ended a 60-Mile Run
A damp library book left spine-up on the access road to Kettering Correctional Center for Women set off a four-day, sixty-mile manhunt across three counties - and its pages were perfectly dry. How did a woman who planned an escape down to toll plazas, power relays, camera angles and tracking dogs lose a run because of a dropped large-print novel?
In this episode, we lay out the sequence of events from the morning the book was found to the end of the search, describing Brenda Thorpe’s background, the prison garden that became her observation post, the storm-night escape, and how a delivery-route teen found the book - and then pose the question that drove the investigation: what single mistake unmade a meticulously planned four-day escape?
Person: Brenda Thorpe
Age: 31
Location: Kettering Correctional Center for Women, eight miles northeast of Marvell

8 OCT 2026 · He Vanished for Two Years - Why Dad Returned on Her Birthday
A man who torched forty-one storage units, caused $2.3 million in damage, and withdrew nearly $90,000 in nine cash withdrawals turned up on gas station footage smiling at a coffee station - not scanning the door. Why would someone on the run leave a truck with keys under the mat at Millhaven Regional Airport and then reappear around his daughter’s birthday?
In this episode, we lay out the timeline from Portsmith to Millhaven, the civil judgment, the arson and insurance findings, the nine near-$10,000 withdrawals, and the single image that altered a two-year search - and ask how a birthday became the last piece of the puzzle.
Person: Richard Duncan
Location: Portsmith, Iowa

7 OCT 2026 · The Librarian Who Vanished with $900K and a Locked Forest Gate
Fear of being tracked and the lure of a clean escape collide: a 46-year-old payroll administrator quietly moved nearly $900,000 through ghost accounts, withdrew nine separate $9,000 sums, and left a calm note about a dripping faucet before boarding a southbound train at 5:41 a.m. - but the forest gate on her planned route was unlocked by someone with the combination. How did she build that head start and where did a locked gate become a clue?
In this episode, we follow the timeline of movements, transactions, and objects that turned a routine library checkout into an automated alert and then into a multi-agency hunt; we trace the cash withdrawals, the Amtrak sighting, and the bicycle purchase that shifted the search from hiding in place to methodical migration - what did those choices reveal about her destination and intent?
Person: Karen Cole
Age: 46
Occupation: payroll administrator
Amount taken: approximately $900,000

6 OCT 2026 · The Ironed Apron: Why a Fugitive Left Her Notebook on a Path
Cold precision in public places: a folded, ironed apron placed on a storm drain at 5:47 a.m., twelve dollars and seventy-three cents arranged by denomination, and a 112-page spiral notebook vanished from its pocket - what motive turns careful ritual into a signal left on a path?
In this episode, we follow the timeline from the February morning find through the months-long fugitive case that began on August 1, 2019, outlining who Michelle Rafferty was, how she disappeared, and why an apron and a missing notebook became pivotal - did she leave a clue or a message?

5 OCT 2026 · The Coffee Cup That Let a Convicted Planner Vanish
A sense of near-miss dread: a convicted financial planner walks out of a courthouse with a paper coffee cup in her hand and vanishes two hours and thirty-seven minutes later - but that cup becomes the one clue nobody saw coming. How did a woman described as composed and ordinary orchestrate a five-month escape plan while attending her own trial, and what finally links the cup to the trail she left behind?
In this episode, we follow the timeline from the morning after the verdict through the early investigation by the Northern Ohio Fugitive Task Force, presenting the concrete actions, purchases, and decisions that made the disappearance possible. What evidence in the footage and financial records points to deliberate planning rather than a panicked flight?

4 OCT 2026 · scar). Tip line read three times. Episode released Tuesday
A folded map and a Greyhound schedule circled for a 7:15 departure were left in a green coat found inside Saint Brendan's Church - the coat had been there less than six hours and a bus was leaving in seventy-four minutes. Who left the coat, and why did a man with a fishhook scar vanish after a $31,000 robbery and then reappear in parish trivia rooms under different names?
In this episode, we follow the timeline from the November 3, 2019 bank robbery through four years of searches and small clues that kept leading back to Midwestern trivia nights and a pattern of ritual donations.
