29 AUG 2022 · Afiba Manza-A. Agovi, PhD is an applied epidemiologist with expertise in
implementation science and health services research. The aim of her research is to
contribute to evidence that is used to inform clinical practice and improve healthcare
delivery for people living with or at risk of HIV acquisition. She is particularly interested
in testing and evaluating implementation strategies to integrate evidence-based
practices for HIV prevention, treatment, and care into healthcare systems.
Dr. Agovi holds a doctoral (PhD) degree in Epidemiology from the University of South
Carolina in Columbia. She joined the Center for Epidemiology & Healthcare Delivery
Research at JPS in 2018 and is the faculty lead for the HIV Research Program. Prior to
joining JPS, she spent four years in Namibia supporting PEPFAR’s funded HIV work.
