Providing general information to help aide and assist those individuals in an unsafe environment 'ONLY' purposes.  This episode describes abusive behaviors and way to get help and out of those situations. If your in need of these services please contact Abuse (1800) 799-7233 or for Labor & Human Trafficking (1888)373.7888 or text HELP or INFO 233733 https://www.acf.hhs.gov/otip/about/ways-endtrafficking *Real advocates will help you and get you to safey. False advocates don't give you SAFE results. So be sure that your advocate is giving results that has you SAFE & the atmosphere your being placed in will be SAFE also. Please know when reporting any of these behaviors you can remain anoymous. Remember it's not just one persons job but it involves the community and that means if you know, see or hear a person being abused or is trafficked. It's your Duty to report it the victims are depending on Y.O.U. In the world someone is being abused every minute. Many of the victims are abused by their partners. Many are women but men are also ending up being victims as well. What is domestic abuse? This can be a disruptive behavior that includes physically harming another person, shouting or yelling at a person to the point they're in fear of you. With holding money, or isolating a person. Being manipulative and controlling a person. Holding a person hostage, preventing them to call for help or leaving all these are domestic abusive behaviors. Let's take a look at some known abusive behaviors *Emotional Abuse- Isolating one from friends & their loved ones. Criticizing everything one does and belittling using obscenities & profanities. Damaging one from a relationship with their kids. Monitoring a person in where they go & how often or how long one should be gone. Whenever you leave your abuser expects you to ask permission, being jealous and pretty much controlling you or your life are all emotional abusive behaviors. *Psychological Abuse Mind games Intimidation using bully tactics over the victime. Acting muncho and tough guy to scare the victim. Threatening to do harm or destroy property the victim has. Threatening to harm their loved ones if the victim tells about the abuse to someone. Isolating one from friends & their loved ones *Economic or Financial abuse Keeping the victim from money or means to leave the abusive relationship. Not allowing one to work to make money to leave or achieve goals or attend church or school. *Physical Abuse- Hitting, shoving and pushing the victim. Punching, kicking and keeping one from seeking proper medical care. Damaging telephones to stop one from commuicating or any ways of communication. Any force to the victim is physical abuse. So I’m in a domestic abusive relationship. How do I get out? Getting out of a domestic abusive relationship isn’t easy especially if the person is the one who has the fianancial say in the relationship or marriage. It can be hard but let me tell you it’s no reason to remain in that relationship. From experience you can leave and to leave you have to make the decision that you're not accepting the abuse anymore. There is HELP and there are advocates who can help see that you're somewhere safe. You won’t need money right away, get yourself safe and once you're safe. You can get the help to gain back your independance the numbers provided in this episode is a start. Because everyday someone is losing their life to domestic violence it’s real and you have to get out. Abusers see only one way and that is to abuse even if your being sexually abused it’s wrong. Human trafficking is wrong your abuser deserves prison time and will do prison time for the abuse that is caused. It’s wrong and no one deserves to be held in bondage to abuse or sexually abused. What is Human Trafficking? Recruiting, or Transporting one forcefully to perform some type of sexual act. Including holding one hostage against their will forcefully engaging them to do some type of sexual act in exchange for money. If someone is having you sell or trade your body for items or money, to pay off debts or use you to make them money. It's wrong and it’s against the law to do that to any woman, Man or Child. If a person isn’t selling themselves or placing themselves in that situation then they are breaking the law by placing another person in that position. It’s against the law!! And it’s wrong for every street pimp, every fitness gym or spa or nail salon, including restaurants to harbor victims of labor trafficking, ( working in places without getting paid, mainly those from foreign countries) just a few known businesses to harbor trafficking activity of Innocent Young Men & Young Women. When will it stop? When will a mother stop crying because her son or daughter isn’t coming home because of being held hostage to a trafficker or pimp?? It’s wrong and not enough is being done. If you see a young man walking into a fitness gym in girl’s short shorts what do you think he is going in there for? Or young lady? Not to work out, for those within the community open your eyes These are someones kids. Our kids, Could be your son or daughter or mother, brother. In the United States Alone there are 15,000 to 50,000 women & children forced into sexual slavary every year and unknowinly of the young men forced. There have been 176 HUMAN TRAFFICKING cases in the state I reside in, seems low compared to that of California, Texas & Florida. But that's just from cases reported in the beginning of 2022. End the statistics resulting in no new cases and It starts not only with authorities to resolve this issue but it starts with the Community. Lets end Abuse In both Domestic, Labor & Human trafficking. Yes it’s all abuse and it’s wrong. IT is not right to sell or make money off children or any one? It’s against the law and it’s a felony……. If you're in an abusive relationship or are being trafficked you're not the one doing the wrong. It’s your abuser who is in the wrong. They know better but greed is what they're running after. It’s not your fault and you're not doing anything wrong. Please know what their doing to you is wrong and know there are people who are fighting not just for you but with you. It's time we fight for our youths for their future and for them to know their bodies are sacred, no one should violate it in any way. No means No and that includes Adults. So with saying that if your experiencing abuse or are being trafficked please call for domestic abuse 1.800.799.7233 forLabor & Human Trafficking 1.888.373.7888 or For SMS 233733 Text “HELP” or INFO Thank you for listening in on tonight's episode. • Part (2) Awareness Of Domestic Abuse, Labor & Human Trafficking

27 NOV 2022 · The information provided on this podcast does not, and is not intended to, constitute legal advice; instead, this podcast takes full responsibility of the content shared below. This podcast contains links to other third-party websites. Such links are only for the convenience of the potential victim individual or individuals. This podcast is not responsible for third party content. Providing general information to to aide and assist those individuals in an unsafe environment 'ONLY' purposes. This episode is part two re-cap of how to end labor & human trafficking. Please visit the link below for more ways to help. How is one tricked into a life of Labor & Human Trafficking…… If you're a person like myself I’m almost kind to anyone I’ve been told I’m too kind. But what if being kind and that kindness lead you to people or places with people who aren’t. Only to have other things in mind for you. Well this episode I’d like to focus on ways one can be mislead into Labor or Human Trafficking. So let’s take an example of Caesar who came to America from El Savadore, For a better job and life. Only to find work in a restaurant that offered him a place to stay. But he never saw his wages and worked long hours. Sometimes with no day off Caesar was tricked into Labor trafficking. This happens to many foreigners here in America and it’s wrong. Although Caesar came in contact with someone who noticed this happening to him and was able to help him out. Not many get help or know what to do. Coming to a foreign place and for many foreigners they come to work wanting the same thing the average American citizen wants: a chance at a good life. Some are taken advantage of and it's wrong. But this is one way an individual is tricked into labor trafficking. It could be either a Woman or Man, even Children or Young Teens. Let's focus on some other ways one can be tricked into Labor Trafficking… The promise of a visa or citizenship is one way. Being told they can be promised with visas and citizenships. These victims work long hours and some work everyday. Very sad for foreigners who don’t know the laws here or where or how to get out of this type of life. I experienced a man who worked constantly in a restaurant. Everytime I went he was there and I asked him if he worked all the time and he just looked at me. Hummed but he acted as if he was being watched or couldn’t talk. I remember going home with him in my mind because I know this stuff is very much real and is happening. But I’ve been told as an American we are spoiled and pay very little attention. But I can tell you I observe and have experienced or came in contact with what I speak about. So I am not merely just speaking, I have been affected in some way in what I speak about. I end my nights in deep thought or saying my prayers that many of these victims are rescued. Because people who do this to victims only see Greed. And it’s never enough they don’t see the pain they're causing to the victims. Not until it happens to them. So if you’d like to know more about Labor Trafficking do research and find out how you can help victims in these situations or how you can get involved visit: https://www.acf.hhs.gov/otip/about/ways-endtrafficking One way is “Think Before You Shop” Do something rather than nothing! These Victims depend on it! Now what are some ways one can be mislead into Human Trafficking?? One method used is misleading friendships. By either a female or someone she knows to mislead the victim into this type of life. The Promise of a loving relationship can be misleading. A job Hitchhiking trusting rides with strangers so be careful as these drivers aren’t screened. Even spending the night at someone's home or place can be misleading. Lying to the victim telling them one thing and doing the total opposite of what they said. Very common this is the #1 way victims are misled is when the trafficker lies. If you're told something and it doesn’t happen in the next day nine out ten it won’t happen and it’s most likely a lie. These are some of the ways one can be misled in our youth: it's the trusting of friendships or an individual. Promising something that never was received or intended for the victim to have. These are scary but it should be and the fear should cause the US to be careful with the people we build friendships with especially if it’s out of the norm. Be Careful. So what are some ways I can get involved to help End human trafficking…… Let me say this is not a one person’s job this is a community job. If you care I mean really care for the victims living in these situations. Then get involved not get involved then decide just because it’s not at your front door you want to stop. It’s a continuous job that requires work daily, these victims depend on us while we’re smiling and enjoying life each day. Their lives are miserable impacted by pain daily and how I know because I was impacted by it and it changed my life forever. Sometimes I feel like my voice isn’t enough but I know that a voice that isn’t silent is indeed being heard. To cause pain of this sort is horrific and to have it caused by adults is horrific. Especially for our youth who are just beginning to live even if it’s no relative of yours. The victim is another mothers child. So how can I help? How can I get Involved?? Be a voice, spread the word and write to your local officials in office. You want to get involved in ending Human Trafficking. Awareness is one way to keep up with your statistics. Just because you don’t see it doesn’t mean it isn’t happening. Look at your state's statistics and even our Country Statistics. And that alone will tell you it exists where you are…… This is Tialonda Thank you for listening in and joining in on this episode. Many do not like the topic but of course who wants to discuss topics such as this? It is so easy to ignore or push it in the back of our minds. But I want to bring it to the forefront because after looking at the statistics I felt I needed to make this awareness to others who do care and are involved. To continue the fight to End Labor & Human Trafficking. In closing I’d like to also send my prayers to Ukraine as I speak about abusive behaviors. Let's remember those who are in this war, the innocent victims Men, women and children, some having experienced just that at no fault of their own. This evening keep Ukraine in your prayers!! *Background music, credits and acknowledges played in this podcast-Jonathan Ogden. • Agreeing to Disagree- Lovingly

18 JUN 2023 · Agreeing to Disagree-Loving, Have you ever been in a situation where you disagreed about something and it just escalated into a huge argument? Yeah,I know I have been there but wouldn’t be nice if we could agree to disagree in a loving way. I know it’s hard to do when you're trying to get your point across, or when shouting at each other and no one is being heard. Sometimes it’s just darn out right difficult. Nobody Is agreeing to disagree in a loving way. It breaks my heart to see relationships have ended over it, and even loss of jobs because of it. If something doesn’t go as we want it to, we get mad and will do almost anything to get our outcome or even to hurt another person. May even punish someone or persons close to them to get a point across. But where does that lead us? It doesn’t resolve the problem, it creates more. It would be nice if as much as we say we are adults. We should act like it right?Being an adult doesn’t mean you get your way all the time. Sometimes you just have to understand that, That's not how the world works. You have 60,70, years old who agree to disagree but do it in such a harsh way. It doesn’t have to be that way you can agree to disagree loving. Well you're the expert, tell me how? No I am no expert but I can say as I’ve grown away from the relationships that I would scream and shout in. I had to sit aside and think why and how that relationship ended. Most of the time it was because I will admit I was too busy shouting and trying to be heard, and get my point across that I didn’t listen to the other person. So, what happened to the other person and I?We ended our relationship. It was my fault as well as the other person's fault as well but the relationship ended. I figured if only we agreed to disagree loving, So what could I have done differently that I can do now in communicating. Sitting down and having a calm and productive conversation. To Simply learn a little more about the problems and the depth of why you both hold such different viewpoints.Sometimes we can reduce the tension and set the tone when approaching the conversation. For instance communicating in a caring and respectful way. I know at first you may feel uncomfortabl because it’s never been a method used when communicating. But it would be awesome if we could learn to dialogue in a way that would last us a lifetime. So that when a disagreement happened. There still would be a mutual respect between us when doing so. Now that’s an adult for you! That means respecting each other's beliefs, their choices, and what they see fit within their lives. My habit is I am always trying to see that everyone is happy and live like a hermit. But in reality we are all different with different similarities. You won’t see things the way I would or believe how I believe. It would be no fun if everyone on earth was like each other. No, I don't. I'd enjoy that but what I would enjoy is learning to accept the differences and similarities of those who aren’t like me. That means even when agreeing to disagree loving, You have to learn to respect others views and rules made when in their place or space. One Day you may thank them for it. We have to learn that this world is changing, we are facing a dangerously high level of disrespect and Intolerance between our families, our schools, and our neighborhoods. Our jobs, even in our religion. So what is needed is we have to find creative solutions in which there are strong views that can coexist peacefully. And that we can learn this by how well we dialogue with our own family members is the beginning of this search for the want in having mutual respect and coexistence. Human Trafficking Prevention & Awareness. This information is being brought to you by experiences, training and courses taken and shared with you in this episode.. As some of you may know, next month is January. It's Human Trafficking Prevention & Awareness month. Some may know what is human trafficking & others may not. In this episode I’d like to educate you by sharing awareness. This is a 132 billion dollar industry, you may have many questions and haven’t been able to have your answers clarified. Well that is what this episode will provide you. One question in particular what is grooming and a groomer? What is human trafficking? Recruiting, or Transporting one forcefully to perform some type of sexual act. Including holding one hostage against their will forcefully engaging them to do some type of sexual act in exchange for money? Who is at risk of being trafficked?Anyone can be at risk there is no discrimination on who can be trafficked. Today, all individual Man, Woman or Child can be or exploited. Where likely are individuals Trafficked? Hotels, Spas, Restaurants, Industrial Warehouses, Homes, Home Health Agencies and almost anywhere the trafficker can entice & harbor victims. What is grooming? & Can I befriend someone who is grooming me at the same time? Grooming-The practice of preparing or training someone for a particular purpose or activity. - The actions or behaviors used to establish an emotional connection with a person such as a minor, and sometimes the individual's family, to make ease with the victim or victims. This can happen in any setting, including online, in person and through other means of a connection. - This is also how to manipulate and gain trust over the victim. Ending up becoming abused or exploited. Yes! A person can befriend you with grooming intentions in mind. A groomer's main goal is to manipulate the victim so that he/she the groomer has control over the victim. It could be telling lies, or telling the victim the person closest to them is causing them harm. This one is very tricky because this is a technique that almost all groomers use to gain an emotional connection with their potential victim or victims. And anyone can be a groomer, no matter their age, gender or race. What are the signs in grooming both a child & adult? - Gaining trust and access to the victim by those of their immediate family members or friends. - Playing a role in the individuals life - Isolating the victim - Secrecy around the relationship with the victim - Initiating sexual contact( talking about it, watching porn, sending nude pictures, inappropriate touching or feeling on the victim) - Controlling the relationship - Threatening You - Unwelcoming(showing up to your gathering or events, house unannounced) *If it doesn’t feel right don’t go along with it and contact authorities or your parents or parents immediately. What are the risks that my child or loved one is being groomed? - Changes in behavior, spending less time away from family members or friends. - Spending too much time online, being secretive about where they are spending their time. - Getting gifts big or small often. I’m much older. Can I be groomed by a younger person? Yes! Groomers are predators; they don’t care who they can make their victim. Can grooming me lead me into being trafficked? It can very well lead you into a trafficking relationship with the trafficker. They use this tactic to gain trust “ The grooming process” draws the victim away from their homes or to gain trust from young victims who may have run away or who are just vulnerable. Be Careful in your relationships, some have been portrayed as a girl or boyfriend and then lead them to the trafficker. Remember their goal is to be the sweetest and not noticeable of their intentions of what their set out to do and that is to” VICTIMIZE”Yes! Even a girl or boyfriend who said they loved you could very well have played their role to lead you on that path as well. Be Careful!! How do you recover from both Grooming & Human trafficking? First you must realize that it wasn’t your fault! Abusers groom and manipulate their victims to believe that they caused or deserved the sexual abuse. As adults, Forgive yourself, place the blame on the abuser and not yourself. Although grooming is very scary, a crime hasn’t been committed yet. It’s mainly a way to train the person for the activity, and possibly the grooming does not always end up in an abusive situation. Human Trafficking is a crime and can be reported immediately. Grooming victims still have a chance to get away from their predator. What is the number to the national human trafficking hotline? How soon can I get help? Will It be a live person? Will the person be a trained advocate? The number to the National Human Trafficking Hotline: 1.888.373.7888 or 233733 Text “HELP or INFO.You are able to get help and the person you speak with is a live person and can give you clear detailed information on how to proceed in getting yourself safe. For additional Information please see previous episodes Part (1&2) description. This podcast episode is only providing you resources in helping you to get help. To have an advocate or human trafficking prevention specialist get you to plan & leave safely. With only wanting the outcome to be a positive one for the victims seeking these resources. If you or someone you know is in need of these resources please don’t hesitate to help or call today. You're worth the peace which comes to those leaving an abusive relationship.
