27 SEP 2019 · the air in vancouver hits different. iunno why, it's just different. Anyway, here's a mix of tunes I haven't had a chance to play out in Montreal. Recorded live from CiTR studios on unceded musqueam territory, aka vancouver.
22 MAR 2019 · Since moving to montreal, my life has changed pretty drastically. And with that change, as with any, old routines are discarded and new ones created. It's a gratifying process, one which allows you to re-evaluate why exactly you do the things you do. Recently, over the christmas holidays, I got a waterproof bluetooth speaker that I've been using a lot more than I expected. One of those uses is to bring it in the shower with me, something I never anticipated but have grown to truly love. It's an environment with new musical possibilities, and yet is so narrowly specific in mood. And so, for my first episode of copy/paste in my new home, I bring to you music for showers.
Originally recorded live on n10.as radio in montreal.
27 JUL 2018 · my ***final mix*** of copy/paste hosted at the inimitable CiTR studios. This one is wild, weird, and fun. Everything dance music should be. It’s been a wonderful 4 years, and now it’s time to move on. BUT! copy/paste is not ending, we’ll take a brief hiatus during August and start back up again in my new home of Montreal in September. If you need some of that copy/paste vibe music in your life before then, the podcast has all 172 episodes ready and waiting to stream, and I hear they're pretty good. Farewell for now, Vancouver.
20 JUL 2018 · whoaaaa we're coming full circle here on copy/paste... for my final guest episode of copy/paste from CiTR studios* I brought a CiTR legend back in, one who I met in my first year at CiTR and has left a significant mark on the station, djb aka dj bee aka brad winter! In this episode we catch up to what he's been doing (spoiler: his new collaborative music project, hexen, is the first track in the mix), and then blesses us with a 100% vinyl mix spanning genres, decades, and worldly locales. Who else can play ambient drone, full on summer disco, and jersey club all in the same mix, all hot on wax? Drop into the mix, and make sure you keep an eye on the hexen bandcamp for forthcoming witchy releases: http://hexenhexen.bandcamp.com
29 JUN 2018 · seems like everyone and their dog is going to bass coast this year, and if that's you (or your dog -- what up, pup), have a listen to the artists that I'm most interested in seeing this year. conveniently mixed, as always, by yours truly.
file under: house, techno, bass, tree house
22 JUN 2018 · 4 the ones that dont wanna talk to nobody...
file under: techno, electro, weirdo beats
15 JUN 2018 · when you look up at the sky, trying to unlock the secrets of the weather henceforth, sometimes it looks back and says, "reply hazy, try again". at least it does here...
file under: magic 8-ball house
8 JUN 2018 · well, it's about time for the annual copy/paste summer mix. I just picked up a bag of new records, 5 of which you'll hear in this mix, including a couple vinyl exclusives. And the rest? The rest are great too. Feel good music for a feel bad world. Good for dancing, good for relaxing. Mix a lil drink to match, why don't ya?
file under: disco, funk, pop, house
