When she purchased her house near Bonham's Historic Square, she didn't know much about this community. But she quickly fell in love with the people, the history and the small town charm in Bonham. The community has even inspired this self-proclaimed "bookish introvert" to get involved and give back. 22 DEC 2025 · Johnny White is a salesman – through and through. Through hard work and dedication, he climbed the ladder of his company - all the way to the top. He was the company's No. 1 salesperson. After retiring, he found his way to Bonham, Texas. He now lives on Lake Bonham and he's still selling (in a new, different and wonderfully great way.) Johnny is now selling Bonham, and he's selling the local Kiwanis Club. He lives by a very powerful creed: "People don't care what you know, until they know how much you care." #bonhamnow

His name was Mike, and according to his bride-to-be, he was "a long, tall Texan" that she found to be very interesting. They fell in love, got married and eventually moved to Bonham, Texas - the hometown of that long, tall Texan. Almost 52 years later, Sue Smith still calls Bonham home. On this podcast episode, she talks about meeting Mike, moving to Texas and giving back in this community. #bonhamnow

She also owns the community's oldest business, Bradford-Watson Insurance. During our conversation, Jennie talks about growing up in Bonham, how and why she came home, and she shares why it was the best decision of her life. At the end of our conversation, she said: "I'm where I'm supposed to be."
Fun Fact: Did you know that Jennie Poe was a college tennis player? Even if you did, I bet you don't know how she landed a tennis scholarship at Grayson College. It's a good story. #bonhamnow
