30 DEC 2023 · Connor Graves. Alabama native and Auburn's biggest fan. Connor opens season two of Assembly with his stories about leaving what was comfortable to follow God's voice to a town called Tigerville RIGHT as Covid hit the world. His passion for truth shines through as we talk about God's faithfulness to us in every step we take. It's clear that Connor loves God and loves people and I know you'll enjoy this episode! 3 DEC 2022 · Jordan Nations. He is chock full of inspiring stories, many of which are written in his book: Not Home Yet. In the last episode of Assembly's first season, my new friend Jordan shares what it's been like to write his own stories while longing for a better place than the broken world we live in today. His humor and genuine love for people are both contagious! God does some incredibly awesome things in this weird life and Jordan reminds us of what a privilege it is to be a part of it. 18 NOV 2022 · Dana Vervaet. This episode nearly didn't happen because we couldn't pull ourselves together and stop laughing for what seemed like forever... but I sure am glad we got to it after our extensive story telling. Dana is one of those people who naturally makes others smile. She walks into a room and people gravitate toward her simply because her heart is authentic and her love is genuine. I'm so grateful the Lord has given me her as one of my best and closest friends. Episode 7 brings tons of laughter as well as some deep wisdom that comes from experiencing when God says "no". Should you choose to listen along, you'll hear in Dana's story that when this happens and we tend to feel confused, the Lord (knowing what's best) asks us to continue trusting his word. 11 NOV 2022 · Mason Simmons. One of the most humble, genuine guys you'll know. He is on the student team with Kate, Charlie, and I and we love to remind Mason how vital he is to First Pres on a regular basis. He grew up in the church and learned first hand how to seek out mentors and utilize the knowledge he's soaked in for his own walk with Christ. Follow along as we talk about the importance of owning your faith while living in a world that seeks to please self. Mason is a brother to me and I know you'll be encouraged by his transparency, so come hang with us during episode 6!

4 NOV 2022 · Charlie Buchanan. He's witty, ridiculously smart, and knows how to always make people laugh with his over the top story telling. Charlie is someone who has taught me so much about doing ministry effectively. Whether it's playing one man dodgeball with the students or teaching a lesson people remember for years, The Right Reverend Charles S. Buchanan sure does know how to dig deep with others. Enjoy episode 5 as Charlie and I talk Jr High ministry, his love for cycling, and the way God is listening to us in both the mundane routines of everyday as well as in the dire circumstances of life when we don't know what the next step is.

28 OCT 2022 · Bailey and Edwin Martinez. They love people well by listening and being present in hopes of tending to the hearts of their friends. With "a full diaper trash bag, laundry spread on the floor, and an old, scraped dresser in the corner" we have a conversation about what it means to live hospitably, pray with intention, and enjoy the married life. Bailey and Edwin are two extremely humble, genuine friends for me and I'm thankful for their vulnerability during this episode. There were several things that I resonated with through their stories and I'm praying you find something to relate to as well!

22 OCT 2022 · Ruth McWhite. My mentor and friend. She always brings a smile to your day and reminds you that God gives hope even in the darkest of situations. Follow along as Ruth explains her story of being both a mom and a minister. She is always bringing insight and wisdom into my life and I know she's done this for countless men and women throughout the years. P.S. Please excuse this unedited episode as my editing program crashed on my computer right when I finished this project... lol we love a good turn of events. 7 OCT 2022 · Jim Thompson. He's that one redneck, tattooed, Jesus-loving guy who brings levity and wisdom to every situation. Jim is a son, husband, father, pastor, writer, and friend. You'll hear touches of these parts of his life during our time together. I hope you'll join the conversation as Jim talks about parenting, growing up as a pastor's kid, and how John's gospel emphasizes that a balance of grace and truth is required for following Christ on this side of heaven. In the opening episode of season one, Kate and I talk about how insecurities can impact ministry as well as how vital it is to surround yourself with a community of people who will edify you - affirm you when you're bearing God's image well but also be willing to call you out when you need a reality-check. Kate has been this kind of friend for me on countless occasions and I hope that through listening to her words, you are inspired to be this kind of friend too.
