11 DEC 2023 · It's a joke and not a funny one. Spare me the "eye test" and the "Jordan Travis is the only reason FSU should have been in the college football final four" talk. Since when has football ever been about eye tests, most likely, etc.? Using a personal example as a Green Bay Packer fan, the Pack were the last team in in 2010. It had to play the entire playoffs on the road. Green Bay was not supposed to win, except it did. Week after week, on the road, all the way to the Super Bowl. Which it won. The difference, of course, is that in the NFL the record and tie-breakers determine whether a team gets into the post season. But that's not the case in college football where because a group of people decided Florida State could not possibly compete, let alone win, without Jordan Travis. Except it did. Twice. Once in a hostile rivalry game on the road, once at a neutral site with a third-string quarterback making his first start against the 14th ranked Louisville Cardinals.The Noles won both by two scores. Something some other teams in the playoff did not do against "lesser" competition. Whatever. If you don't think FSU belongs among the final four for winning all of its games and having beat eight bowl eligible teams, I can't help you.Know this ... the impact of "the committee's" decision to leave the only Power-5 unbeaten out of the playoff will be felt for years to come.
