  • Put In The Effort, To Achieve Success

19 MAY 2023 · - The setting up of the new Zawiyah took a lot of effort by the mureeds. - And effort is the act of worship of the body. The worshipping of the Soul, is to depend on Allahﷻ, and not our efforts, despite putting in the effort. - Tie your camel, then depend on Allahﷻ. (Hadeeth) - The Hadeeth did not instruct us to depend on our efforts despite doing them, but to depend on Allahﷻ. - Sayyidatina Maryam (as) was instructed to shake a date tree, in order to attain dates during her pregnancy. Despite the tree being immovable, still she was commanded to shake it, as effort is the worshipping required to trigger Divine help. - Allahﷻ will not change the condition/state of a Community, until they themselves make the effort to change. (Qur'an) - So many people are dealing with problems in their lives, that they can solve - by simply taking the bull by the horns. - Being overweight, being ill with lifestyle diseases, being addicted to cigarettes, being unable to read Qur'an, being broke etc - all these can be solved by making effort. Making prayers without effort will not work. Sayyidina Musa (as) did not take medication for his illness and only resorted to prayers (Doa), and Allahﷻ commanded him to take his medicines. - Lifestyle illnesses occur after many years of a sedentary lifestyle and poor food choices. White sugar, white salt, gassy drinks and fast/instant food lead to a plethora of illnesses, but almost no one is caring what they put into their bodies and eat freely without care. - We have been commanded in the Qur'an to eat halalan toyyiban - not just halal, but also health-giving, beneficial food. Not junk and processed food that, though halal, is not toyyib. - So be careful what you put into your body. A tiny pill like Panadol already has such a powerful effect on your body, what more if you ate a whole plate of unhealthy snacks? What if you did it regularly? - So come back to healthy eating, eat in moderation, eat Prophetic Sunnah foods, and be physically active. Don't be lazy. - Make the change! Start working hard. Start learning Qur'an. Start exercising. Start drinking plain water and avoiding bottled drinks. (Shaykh Nazim forbade mureeds from drinking Coke/Pepsi etc. Even the zero calorie ones are very unhealthy). - So what is stopping you from making changes that benefit you in both worlds? The laziness of your ego! And the ego leads only to badness. (Qur'an). - Those who wish to enter Jannah, will enter it. (Hadeeth) - It's simply your choice. To obey the ego and be in Jahannam in both worlds. Or to take the bull by the horns, to start making effort, to start working towards a goal (losing weight, quitting smoking, learning Qur'an etc.) by disobeying your ego... and attaining Jannah in both worlds (for your duniawi or ukhrawi aspirations)... it's very simply, your choice.

  • Be Wary of Those Who Wish to Steal Your Faith

12 MAY 2023 · - Eid is a time of great happiness, a time of visiting, joining ties and forgiveness. - Indeed the main happiness of the people of Jannah is in visiting one another - visiting relatives, fellow mureeds, Saints, Sahabah, our Shuyukh, our Prophetﷺ - and most breathtaking of all, to visit Allahﷻ and to gaze upon His Holy Face/Countenance. - Allahﷻ created happiness and sadness, but forbids us to dwell upon sadness. Allahﷻ Himself is never sad and never cries, for these are attributes of weakness. Instead, He is Happy and Laughs, and we shared a Hadeeth of Allahﷻ laughing at the antics of a recently rescued believer who was plucked out from Jahannam. - Our move to a new Zawiyah is also a happy event. Just as the Prophetﷺ and his Companions performed Hijrah after 10 years in Makkah, we too are migrating after 10 years to a new Zawiyah. - And just as the Prophetﷺ and the believers faced the added trial of hypocrites in Madinah, we too must be careful of the munafiqoon as we plod on, on our journey. - The munafiq are a very dangerous breed of humans, whom Allahﷻ says will be tortured in the deepest depths of Hell. For they are given the freedom to move freely amongst the believers, yet plot and plan how to destroy them and to inhibit their growth, expansion and progress. - So protect your faith by being careful about your circle of acquaintances. For it is not easy to die with Iman, with so many hungry and tireless enemies lurking around our hearts, seeking a moment's heedlessness to whisper damaging and vulgar thoughts - whispers & thoughts that weaken our faith, and trust, in Allahﷻ. - Entrust your faith to Allahﷻ, seek His help to leave this world with Iman. And be wary of those whom you meet, do not be too trusting, for we are in a time where the true ones, are few and far between.

  • The Immense Danger of Falling Into Depression

9 MAY 2023 · - When Allahﷻ created Adam (as), it rained 40 years of sadness, and 1 year of happiness upon him. Sad events are what this duniawi life is about. - Coping with sadness needs much help and guidance. Because shaitan uses sadness to whisper bad assumptions, anger and suspicious thoughts, towards Allahﷻ, into the hearts of believers. - Uncontrolled sadness leads to depression, which is the doorway for believers to lose their faith...sadness is used by Shaitan to cheat believers of their faith. - Listen to the two powerful defences that we must know, to defeat Shaitan at its game. - This knowledge helps us deal with these tests from Allahﷻ, and will help us draw close to Himﷻ and benefit from sadness, instead of being destroyed by it. - Mureeds must possess these weapons to defeat Shaitan. Allahﷻ also reminds us in the Qur'an - 'Do not grieve; indeed Allah is with us.' (9:40)

  • Important Questions

28 APR 2023 · The following questions were answered in this session: 1) what are the dangers of posting about our private lives and issues on social media? - Evil eye is the greatest danger. - Everyone who is blessed is envied. (Hadeeth) - Posting of our blessings, achievements, good fortune, family happiness and all sorts of blessings, invite envy, and hence the terrible destructive energy of evil eye. - Worse still, there are others who smile in front of us, but may actively plot to destroy our happiness behind our backs, using sabotage or black magic. Do check earlier Telegram postings about 'evil eye'. 2) what is the danger of joining too many religious WhatsApp/Telegram groups? - Random constant posting result in fatigue and confusion. - It is important to follow a syllabus, a systemic group that teaches exactly what is needed by mureeds in each situation. - The Qur'an was not revealed at one go - each revelation is linked to an 'asbabul nuzul' - a reason for a revelation. - Hence being in groups posting unrelated Suhbahs continuously, sometimes up to 20 postings a day, does not help build knowledge - it confuses and overwhelms mureeds. So stick to a channel that guides you stepwise and systematically like our Telegram Channel - and where your queries are answered correctly under the guidance of Fiqh and Tariqah guides. Many of these groups have fellow mureeds posting their personal opinions on each topic discussed, resulting in disagreements, confusion and wrong teachings being disseminated. So don't join too many of these sort of groups - stick to the one where you are actually receiving proper guidance and beneficial advice. 3) Should I follow muqaddams or Sheikhs (under Mawlana) from other countries outside Asia? 4) How do I overcome the feeling of superiority that I have in my heart when I surpass others in what I can do? (This question has been tackled in earlier posts) 5) Why is life so meaningless and tasteless? - Allahﷻ created us to know Him, to discover the hidden treasure of friendship and companionship with Him. Life is full of meaning eternally. Don't let Shaitan cheat you of His eternal Love.

Prophet Sayyidina Muhammad (s) said in a sahih hadith, “ad-deenu naseeha” – “Religion is advice.” Religion is not a lecture for a scholar to give and go. It is advice, and advice doesn’t come except through experience. Advice cannot be theoretical.

Sayyidina Shah Naqshaband said, “tariqatuna as-suhbah wal-khayru fil-jam`iyya” – “Our tariqat is association, it is keeping company, sohbah, association, and the best of the gathering is in coming together.” Or it can be said, “Our way is guidance, and the best is in association.” Without association, without advice, there is no way to benefit.

🌹 KINDLY NOTE: The recordings in this podcast are initiated and personally documented by student attendees of Mawlana Shaykh Muhammad Adil Ar Rabbani, the 41st Leader of the Nasqhbandi Aliyyah Sufi Order, in Singapore.
