- The setting up of the new Zawiyah took a lot of effort by the mureeds.

- And effort is the act of worship of the body. The worshipping of the Soul, is to depend on Allahﷻ, and not our efforts, despite putting in the effort.

- Tie your camel, then depend on Allahﷻ. (Hadeeth)

- The Hadeeth did not instruct us to depend on our efforts despite doing them, but to depend on Allahﷻ.

- Sayyidatina Maryam (as) was instructed to shake a date tree, in order to attain dates during her pregnancy. Despite the tree being immovable, still she was commanded to shake it, as effort is the worshipping required to trigger Divine help.

- Allahﷻ will not change the condition/state of a Community, until they themselves make the effort to change. (Qur'an)

- So many people are dealing with problems in their lives, that they can solve - by simply taking the bull by the horns.

- Being overweight, being ill with lifestyle diseases, being addicted to cigarettes, being unable to read Qur'an, being broke etc - all these can be solved by making effort. Making prayers without effort will not work. Sayyidina Musa (as) did not take medication for his illness and only resorted to prayers (Doa), and Allahﷻ commanded him to take his medicines.

- Lifestyle illnesses occur after many years of a sedentary lifestyle and poor food choices. White sugar, white salt, gassy drinks and fast/instant food lead to a plethora of illnesses, but almost no one is caring what they put into their bodies and eat freely without care.

- We have been commanded in the Qur'an to eat halalan toyyiban - not just halal, but also health-giving, beneficial food. Not junk and processed food that, though halal, is not toyyib.

- So be careful what you put into your body. A tiny pill like Panadol already has such a powerful effect on your body, what more if you ate a whole plate of unhealthy snacks? What if you did it regularly?

- So come back to healthy eating, eat in moderation, eat Prophetic Sunnah foods, and be physically active. Don't be lazy.

- Make the change! Start working hard. Start learning Qur'an. Start exercising. Start drinking plain water and avoiding bottled drinks. (Shaykh Nazim forbade mureeds from drinking Coke/Pepsi etc. Even the zero calorie ones are very unhealthy).

- So what is stopping you from making changes that benefit you in both worlds? The laziness of your ego! And the ego leads only to badness. (Qur'an).

- Those who wish to enter Jannah, will enter it. (Hadeeth)

- It's simply your choice. To obey the ego and be in Jahannam in both worlds. Or to take the bull by the horns, to start making effort, to start working towards a goal (losing weight, quitting smoking, learning Qur'an etc.) by disobeying your ego... and attaining Jannah in both worlds (for your duniawi or ukhrawi aspirations)... it's very simply, your choice.
