You say you want something different. But how bad do you really want it?
It's easy to admire someone else's success. We see the athlete, leader, businessperson, parent, or mature Christian they are today—but rarely see the years of discipline, sacrifice, failure, correction, and persistence that produced what we're admiring.

There's an important principle underneath Solomon's words:
Desire is demonstrated by pursuit.
If we truly want wisdom, we have to listen. Ask questions. Receive correction. Seek understanding. Learn from people who have already walked the road—even when the person carrying that wisdom doesn't look like the messenger we expected.
