Gary, I would say turning a blind eye to a live birth so that the baby can die on a table after a botched abortion is an extreme position. The idea of banning the ending of a human life, at whatever stage, is not as extreme and yet you obviously turn a blind eye to abortion up to and including just after birth. Question: Is THAT an extreme position in your eyes? If so, why is it NEVER brought up and discussed in the press as omnipresently as the total ban crowd?

Adendum to my previous comment. Here in Kansas, we just passed an amendment that stops all regulation of abortion because voters by a large margin DO NOT trust the GOP on the issue.

There should be no surprise about Ohio results on abortion. Polls show MOST people don't want a total ban on abortion. Hard core no abortion for any reason advocates are rejected by the voters. The public wants abortion at least up to 15 weeks and a bit further. In a Democratic Republic they are entitled to get what they want. Face it. The extreme no exemption abortion banners have not gained the publics support. In fact, it was a revulsion of that extremity that moved people to vote for Constitutional amendments via plebiscite to make abortion legal. There is NO WAY this will change. Republicans lost the debate. All that effort to kill Roe VS Wade was a waste of time. Anti abortion advocates failed to make the case. Most especially the extremist no exceptions crowd.

Mollie - @64:30 you present an impassioned illustration of the Israel predicament vis-a-vi the global press and political pressure. They are pressured to do exactly what you are talking about - to take the mendacious enemy at their word as if they were ever honest actors. As you were talking i thought David would immediately pick up on that.
