What is it really like to referee an Old Firm derby, and why would anyone want to do it?

In this week’s episode of the ‘Weekend Bigots’ podcast, Kevan Christie invites former grade one referee Stuart Dougal to give a unique view.

Stuart discusses how refereeing wasn’t his first career choice but says that, after being entinced by a friend of his father’s to attend a training course, he fell in love with the job.

Stuart, a veteran of a dozen Old Firm derbies, has had a dynamic career as a referee and has been involved in many controversies, from sending off Charlie Mulgrew to rescinding decisions he got wrong.
