Hello! I’m Gail Nobles and you’re listening to the Whitney Soul Podcast. Yea, people are still talking about Whitney Houston. Talking about how she couldn’t dance. But Whitney didn’t need that dance. She was moved to perform with what she was given. She made you dance instead singing, I Wanna Dance With Somebody.

Whitney had church power in her voice. It was something that a lot of other singers didn’t have. She dint have to make it the way that they made it. And when she performed, all she had to do was walk up and down the stage, and the audience was still moved by her singing, but not only that, she moved up the stairway and down the stairs 🎶. And every time she went up the stairs, she knew she had to pray. She was in the spotlight of the world. And while Whitney was on top, the people wanted to boo. The craziest thing.
So there were times when she came down the stairs wanting a break and to get away from the stage. And it wasn’t because she didn’t do a great job singing.

Whitney Houston continued to receive awards. She received many for her great performance and work. But it was nothing like the work and reward spiritually waiting for her. The kind of work where you don’t get tired, and the kind of award that is everlasting.

Some people made fun of Whitney and tried to put her down still. She moved up the stairway and down the stairs 🎶. Like Soul to Soul. She kept on moving, and she didn’t stop until she was called to retire. Whitney was trying to make a living. That was her earthly job. Singing. But man will work you to death, and Whitney doesn’t have to go up and down those stage stairways anymore. And when Whitney was here, she didn’t have to dance. It was never intended for her to be overworked.

Dancing and singing with the mic in your hand requires more work. Bouncing up and down and trying to sing too. She concentrated mostly on her singing because a singer is what she was. I’m not saying she couldn’t learn to dance. Whitney Houston gave us what a lot of other singers weren’t giving us. She gave us voice with music.

Physically, she’s not here with us, but spiritually she’s still moving us. Still making us talk about her. Ain’t that something? She’s been gone since 2012. Whitney Houston is the most talked about singer that I’ve ever known. Newsmakers still got her in the news. Moviemakers still trying to make movies about her. Tribute artists trying to sing like her and keeping the legacy going. Whitney’s got us moving up the stairway and down the stairs.

Everybody has demons Dave in this sinful world. What happened to her could have happened to any of us. She did acknowledge God. I don’t know if she truly learned about God or not. Just because a child is raised in church doesn’t mean they are guided right. Only God can judge those things. We see the outside. He sees the heart.

I didn’t know she couldn’t dance. Didn’t make a difference to me. I liked her voice and passion.
