Life is full of drama. It makes you wonder how you’re the actor when you start to feel pain. When the tears are real. Tables begin to turn, and we all have a role to play. Same Script, Different Cast by Whitney Houston Featuring Deborah Cox.

(Singing)

In the song, Whitney said it’s a retake of her life, and she tries to warn Deborah that the same thing that he did to her, he was going to do to her too. Yea, it’s like they are all on a stage. It’s like a game that’s played and a movie being made. They come and they go. It’s all one big show, but the ones that hurt puts into it the soul and the mind. Hearts are broken. It’s all there in life, and acted out all at the same time.

Whitney saiid: Yea, I played that script before. And Deborah wasn’t trying to listen. ( He told me that he loved me).

You see, Whitney know now. She was like saying listen to what I tell you. He was my man. In the song, Deborah wants to Cary on still. Telling Whitney that it’s her fault. That she didn’t love him enough, and Whitney would come right back with words saying: That’s the problem. I loved him too much. See, Whitney tried to tell her, but we have those women that know your man better than you do. Think they know him.

Anyway, Same Script, Different Cast was released as a radio- only promo single and no video was made. Of course, there are fan made videos. The song was a minor hit on Billboard Hot 100, peaking at number 70 while reaching number 14 on Hot R&B/Hip-Hop songs. The song was also very successful on Hot Dance Club Play, peaking at number 4.

In my opinion, I think it is a very good song because the words Same Script, Different Cast is what really got my attention. The words describe a love life relationship, and it’s a good way to describe it according to the song.

Deborah and Whitney sound great together. They were like acting, singing, and telling a story. A soap opera story. They made a great duet.

I’m Gail Nobles. Be sure to listen to the original song Same Script, Different Cast on Spotify. In the mean time, I’m gonna sound off the podcast way. After all, it’s just a show. It’s drama you see. Goodbye friends. You’re listening to the Whitney Soul Podcast.
