Story Transcript:

He: דוד ושרה ישבו בקפה שחוף, על המעקה התכלת של המרפסת, גלים מתנגשים בחוף תל אביב שאליו הם מושטים את מבטם. לדוד הייתה מסיכת פנים על המון השפה שלו, ממרמר הגרמנית שלו. שרה, עם שיערה השחור הגלי, נשמעה לו כמו שיר לועזי ממשוואה גרפית.
En: David and Sarah sat in a beach café, on the blue railing of the balcony, waves crashing on the shore of Tel Aviv to which they extended their gaze. David had a face mask on his mouth, murmuring his German. Sarah, with her wavy black hair, sounded like a foreign song to him, some kind of graphical equation.

He: "אני לא מבין", חםחם דוד.
En: "I don't understand," David sighed.

He: "אני גם", השיבה שרה, מנגדתיה דודח מיוסר לבה. הרעשים שמאחרייהם מהחוף והפאבים עטפו אותם.
En: "Me neither," Sarah replied, deflecting her gaze from him. The noises behind them from the beach and the pubs surrounded them.

He: ויתרו על מילים, אך נשארו יחדיו. הם המשיכו שיחה לא קלה במילים מתנגשות, לבילוי בתל אביב שביום בו הם הכירו. דוד התגעגע לאווירת החופים של תל אביב, ושרה התגעגעה לריחות הים שליד הבית שלה בצפון.
En: They gave up on words but remained together. They continued a difficult conversation with colliding words, spending time in Tel Aviv, the day they met. David missed the atmosphere of the Tel Aviv beaches, and Sarah missed the sea smells near her home in the north.

He: המבטים שלהם הזמינו זה את זה לחוויה שותפה.
En: Their gazes invited each other to a shared experience.

He: אחרי כמה שעות של ישיבה במעקה, רשמו לעצמם מגע במילים שנמשכ למעשה. הקילוף מאחרי העיניים שלהם, אחרי הילחות של המילים התערבב ברעש הערב.
En: After a few hours of sitting on the railing, they sensed a touch in the words that actually lasted. The peeling away from their eyes, after the sharpness of the words, mixed with the evening noise.

He: המרחקים שביניהם מתמזגים לאחדים, כפי שהם איחדו הידיים שלהם ויצאו להתהלך על חוף תל אביב.
En: The distances between them merge into one, as they held hands and went for a walk on the Tel Aviv beach.

He: "אֲנַחְנוּ" הגה דוד, מסתכל על הגלים. שקיעה אדומה התרחשה מעבר למפרץ, שרה הרגישה בפעם הראשונה מאז שהיתה כדי לפרש את מיליו. דּוֹד נשאר שקט, והם המשיכו ללכת יחד.
En: "We are" David whispered, looking at the waves. A red sunset occurred beyond the bay. Sarah felt, for the first time since she was there, to interpret his words. David remained quiet, and they continued walking together.
