What happens to a culture when it removes God and rejects biblical truth?
In this episode of Foundational U, I look at Hosea 4 and the warning God gave to a people who had rejected knowledge of Him: “My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge.” I then examine one of the defining questions of our culture: Where do we find truth, and who has the authority to define what is right and wrong?
Science, medicine, and law are valuable disciplines, but as Albert Einstein pointed out in his 1939 address on science and religion, science alone cannot tell us what should be. It can describe what is, but it cannot answer the deepest questions of human existence: Who am I?
Why am I here? What is right and wrong? What is my purpose? What happens after death?
Those answers ultimately require something beyond human knowledge. They require the truth of God's Word.
When God's Word is removed from a culture, darkness grows. Scripture is the light we need to understand who we are, why we're here, and how we should live.
