Journey into the heart of the Civil War with Union officer Benjamin F Hasson as he recounts his daring escape from captivity in the Confederacy. Captured and set to be transported to the notorious Andersonville prison, Hasson’s resourcefulness led him to freedom. This podcast not only highlights his remarkable escape but also offers a unique glimpse into the lives of Southern blacks, both enslaved and free, during the Civil War. Please note, the final section of Hassons book, which details a list of his captured comrades and their subsequent fates, is not included in this audio edition.
