The Lone Ranger #932, "Wagon Train Escape," a desperate outlaw named Billy finds himself behind bars after the Lone Ranger foils his cafe holdup. When his former partners Bruce Austin and Scotty Fowler visit him in jail, Billy offers them a thousand dollars hidden from a previous robbery in exchange for help escaping. The pair refuses his cash but agrees to break him out for their own reasons—they're joining a wagon train heading west and need Billy's silence about their criminal past. Under cover of darkness, Austin and Fowler slip Billy a gun through his cell window and force the sheriff to unlock the door at gunpoint.
The desperate jailbreak sets in motion a dangerous situation as the outlaws plan to hide Billy in their own wagon and smuggle him out with the emigrant train led by Azar Johnson. With Billy armed and the corrupt partners embedded among honest settlers heading west, the wagon train faces threats from within as well as the harsh frontier ahead. Only the Masked Rider of the Plains stands between these criminals and their escape into the lawless territories.
