The United Nations 17 Sustainable Development Goals are used by 200 countries to inform policymakers but one of them, SDG12.5 encourages 'recycling and reuse'. The metric by which this is measured is 'recycling' alone and not 'reuse'. Brian Murphy and Thornton Kay discuss this topic and the reclamation and reuse of reclaimed doors at Nairobi Salvage Centre in Kenya, fairly recently made firedoors removed in demolitions and refurbishment of recently constructed buildings, upratong old timber doors to modern standards, along with the forthcominng construction show Futurebuild at London's Excel 5 - 7 March.
