Story Transcript:

He: השמש זרחה בבהילה במרכז העיר, משקפת את עצמה באגפילים המייבשים התלויים מעל מאוי הפירות של מקום: שוק העיר.
En: The sun rose anxiously in the center of the city, reflecting itself in the hanging clotheslines above the piles of fruits in the place: the city market.

He: זה היה שוק בתיאום אידיאלי, כל הארוחות, הצלחות, הצורות, הריחות, המגע .
En: It was a market in perfect coordination, all the flavors, colors, shapes, scents, and textures...

He: אם היית יכול להגיע שם, יכולת להגיד שהכל היה חי.
En: If you could get there, you could say everything was alive.

He: אבינו, אבי, דרך בשוק בדרכיו הקבועות, מביט במגוון הפרי, ממיס את אצבעותיו ברך הענבים הכחולים, מקפץ מלפפונים ירוקים ביד כדי לבדוק את עזם.
En: My father, Avi, walked through the market on his usual path, looking at the variety of fruits, pressing his fingers against the bunch of blue grapes, grabbing green cucumbers in his hand to see their firmness.

He: אבי חנה ליד דוכן המלפפונים.
En: My father stopped next to the cucumber stand.

He: יש משהו באוויר.
En: There was something in the air... a sense of conflict.

He: נמיכה של מריבה.
En: The price of the cucumbers was exaggerated, at least more than usual, my father noticed that around him, he was brave and did not want the seller to deceive him.

He: המחיר של המלפפונים היה מופרז, לפחות יותר מהרגיל, אבי רואה זאת מסביב, הוא אמיץ ואיננו רוצה לתת למוכר לעקוץ אותו.
En: An unexpected but charged dialogue began.

He: התחיל דיאלוג הלא מאויים אך טעין.
En: The seller, with a measure of confidence that cannot be underestimated and a face full of wrinkles that cannot be unloved, offered a "final price" that was still very high.

He: המוכר, עם קנה מידה שאי אפשר לא להעריך ופנים מלאות אמלף אשר אי אפשר לא לאהוב, הציע "מחיר סופי" שהיה עדיין מאוד גבוה, אבי נמיכה ועוד לקבל הצעה טובה מדי.
En: My father negotiated and still received a better offer.

He: גרמו להתרחש מצב שבו הכמה שהמוכר לא רצה להשאיר את אבי, אבי התבטא חזקה למשא עם המוכר פנימה, משם הם שמעו צחוקות ואפלאזים של ההתראה.
En: This created a situation where the few that the seller did not want to leave my father, my father expressed his strength in bargaining with the seller internally, from there they heard warnings and applause.

He: אבי יצא מהקרב באופן שקט ומודגש.
En: My father left the battle quietly yet emphatically.

He: הוא היה מחייך, בידו שק כבד של מלפפונים טריים שטעמם הוא של הצלחה.
En: He was smiling, with a heavy bag of fresh cucumbers in his hand, their taste represented his success.

He: במחיר שהוא אישית עצמו ערער בראשו, שמח בכך שהצליח לנצח את המחיר ולהשיג את מבוקשו.
En: At the price he personally reconsidered in his mind, he was happy that he managed to beat the price and get what he wanted.
