In this special 14-Year Celebration episode of Vigilantes Radio Live, Dini reconnects with longtime friend and Mississippi DJ veteran DJ 2TALL—“Da 6’8” Wonder”—for a conversation about music, longevity, friendship, Mississippi hip-hop history, and more than two decades of staying committed to the culture.

Their connection goes back to 2005, when Dini was performing as Whodini Blak with the rap crew Cash on Demand alongside Young Mighty, Lil Chucky Da Cequel, Cristylez, and the late Maddog Blo’ the Smoke. DJ 2TALL quickly became the crew’s first “unofficial official DJ,” helping soundtrack an era filled with competitions, performances, travel, and the ambition of young artists trying to make their mark throughout central Mississippi.

DJ 2TALL reflects on beginning his DJ journey at just 14 years old, building respected club and casino residencies, hosting independent mixtapes, working around major artists, touring as a DJ and road manager, and watching the role of the DJ evolve from the mixtape and club era into today’s streaming and social-media landscape.

The conversation also revisits the early Jackson music scene, the importance of DJs to independent artists, the connections and personalities that shaped their journey, and what it feels like to look back more than 20 years later at the people, places, and experiences that became part of their shared history.

This episode is about more than spinning records. It is about staying relevant, reading people, taking the scenic route through the music business, and realizing that sometimes the people present during your beginning become part of your legacy long before you understand why.
