The heist is over, but escape proves deadlier than the theft. The Scum Kings crawl through mountain passes with a wagon full of stolen gold, their iron wheels shrieking against stone and announcing their position for miles. When Brynn spots twelve cavalry riders closing fast, Orso begs to hide their treasure and ambush from the shadows. But Dray refuses to cower like a common thief.
