Story Transcript:

He: בהיכלות המקודשים של ירושלים, משקפי השמש של יעל מניחים השתקפות מזהירה של אור הימים החורפיים. היא נמצאת באמצע משימה מקומית, אך איננה קלה - ללמד את החברים שלה, דוד ושרה, את האשליה של האכילה של פלאפל בלי לעשות בלאגן.
En: In the holy halls of Jerusalem, the sunlight glimmers through Yael's sunglasses, reflecting a cautious sparkle of winter days. She is in the midst of a local mission, but it is not an easy one - teaching her friends, David and Sarah, the art of eating falafel without making a mess.

He: שולחן עגול מעץ, קנקני טחינה וחריף, וכמובן - הפלאפלים עצמם. פיצוחים של פלאפל ירוק-בהיר, מתובל ועשיר, בפתיתי לחם קרמיים ומניחים על החצי התחתון של לחם פיתה. יעל נמצאת בתנאים שלה, הידיים מעשיות מחזור פתוח וסוגר ברושה. שרה ודוד מביטים אליה בתמהה.
En: On a round wooden table, jars of spicy and tangy tahini, and of course - the falafel themselves. Balls of light green falafel, seasoned and rich, placed on the lower half of a pita bread. Yael is in her element, her hands skillfully moving in a continuous cycle, opening and closing in a rhythmic motion. Sarah and David gaze at her in wonder.

He: "זה קל." אמרה. "עושים את המחזור כך וכך ו..." ברגע ההיסוס, הפיתה שבידה של יעל נפצעת. הפיתה התפצלה, הפלאפל נפל לרצפה בבוּשה.
En: "It's easy," she said. "You do the cycle like this and like that and..." In a moment of hesitation, the pita bread in Yael's hand gets damaged. The bread splits apart, and the falafel falls to the floor in disappointment.

He: דויד ניסה לקנטר. "אוי יעל, זה נראה קל."
En: David tries to cheer her up. "Oh Yael, it looked so easy."

He: "אני מבטיחה לכם, זו פעם ראשונה שזה קורה לי," ענתה יעל בהתבאסות, מפנה תמימות עיניים לשרה, שנמצאת בהיסטריה מוחסכת.
En: "I promise you, this is the first time it has happened to me," Yael answered sadly, innocently looking at Sarah, who is hysterical with suppressed laughter.

He: אחרי מספר ניסיונות נוספים וסיבוב בעיר על ההר, תוך שהם אוכלים יחד פלאפל מהמדרכה, עם לחם משולש, יעל נפלה לחשיבה עמוקה. היא מבינה שאין דרך "נכונה" לאכול פלאפל. זו חוויה אישית שכל אחת ואחד צריכים לחוות.
En: After a few more attempts and a walk around the city with falafel in hand, eating triangular sandwiches, Yael falls into deep thought. She realizes that there is no "correct" way to eat falafel. It is a personal experience that everyone must go through.

He: "מה אם... מה אם זו נקודת המבט של דוד?" שאלה יעל את שרה בחצי חיוך. "מה אם הדרך הנכונה לאכול פלאפל היא לפשוט לאכול אותו ולהנות? לא לחשוב על איך אני אוכלת אותו, אלא סתם... לאכול אותו?"
En: "What if... what if this is David's perspective?" Yael asks Sarah with a half-smile. "What if the right way to eat falafel is simply to eat it and enjoy it? Not to think about how I eat it, but just... to eat it?"

He: "נשמע כמו תיאוריה מעניינת." ענתה שרה עם קול מלא בביס, "תראי, דויד אף פעם לא עשה בלאגן."
En: "That sounds like an interesting theory," Sarah responds with a teasing voice. "You see, David never makes a mess."

He: כך הסתיים היום, בהסכמה צינית ובצחוק. יעל, דוד ושרה ילמדו עוד הרבה שיעורים מהאחד את השני, אך את השיעור הזה הם לא ישכחו: אין דרך "נכונה" להיות, רק באופן שאתה נמצא בו את השלווה והשמחה.
En: And so the day ends, with a sarcastic agreement and laughter. Yael, David, and Sarah will continue to learn many lessons from each other, but this lesson they will never forget: there is no "correct" way to be, only the way that brings you peace and happiness.
