Story Transcript:

Cy: Ar fore braf o wanwyn, pan oedd y blodau'n deffro a'r awel yn chwarae trwy goedwig hynafol, roedd Eleri a Gareth yn byw yn y pentref bach gerllaw Parc Cenedlaethol Eryri.
En: On a lovely morning in spring, when the flowers were waking up and the wind was playing through the ancient forest, Eleri and Gareth lived in the small village near Snowdonia National Park.

Cy: Pentref tawel lle roedd pawb yn adnabod ei gilydd ac yn rhannu'r un siop, yr un dafarn, a'r un meddygfa.
En: It was a peaceful village where everyone knew each other and shared the same shop, pub, and medical center.

Cy: Un diwrnod, wedi brecwast o de a bara brith, penderfynodd Eleri anfon neges destun at Gareth.
En: One day, after a breakfast of tea and bara brith, Eleri decided to send a text message to Gareth.

Cy: Roedd hi am ei wahodd i gerdded ar lwybrau Eryri, lle gallent fwynhau'r golygfeydd a'r awyr iach gyda'i gilydd.
En: She wanted to invite him to walk on the trails of Snowdon, where they could enjoy the views and the fresh air together.

Cy: Ond wrth deipio ar ei ffôn symudol hen ffasiwn, gan wisgo ei sbectol heb ystyried pa mor aneglur roedd y rhifau, anfonodd Eleri y neges i rywun arall heb sylwi.
En: But while typing on her old-fashioned mobile phone, not paying attention to how unclear the numbers were, Eleri sent the message to someone else without noticing.

Cy: I'w chymydog chwilfrydig a siaradus, Mrs. Lloyd, wraig a oedd yn caru clecs a sïon fel aderyn cariad câns.
En: To her curious and talkative neighbor, Mrs. Lloyd, a woman who loved gossip and chat like a chatty lovebird.

Cy: "Dewch i grwydro'n llawen i gopaon yr Wyddfa, Gareth! Bydd hi'n antur! X" meddai'r neges a glanio yn ffôn Mrs. Lloyd yn hytrach na Gareth.
En: "Come cheerfully wander to the top of Snowdon, Gareth! It will be an adventure! X," the message said, landing on Mrs. Lloyd's phone instead of Gareth's.

Cy: Ar yr un pryd, roedd Gareth y tu allan yn yr ardd, yn torri'r porfa a phlanu blodau newydd, heb unrhyw syniad am y gamgymeriad.
En: At the same time, Gareth was outside in the garden, cutting the hedge and planting new flowers, without any idea of the mistake.

Cy: Mrs. Lloyd, ar ôl darllen y neges, a ddechreuodd wenu'n ddirgel a phenderfynu y byddai'n bryd i'r pentref glywed am yr antur sydd ar y gweill.
En: Mrs. Lloyd, after reading the message, started smiling mysteriously and decided it was time for the village to hear about the pending adventure.

Cy: Fe ledaenodd y stori fel tân gwyllt, o'r siop i'r dafarn i swyddfa'r post, a phob tro'n ychwanegu ychydig mwy o sbeis at y clecs.
En: The story spread like wildfire, from the shop to the pub to the post office, with each retelling adding a little more spice to the gossip.

Cy: Roedd sôn bod Eleri a Gareth yn mynd i briodi ar gopa'r Wyddfa, yn hedfan i'r lleuad ar gefn eryr, ac yn mynd i adeiladu palas yng nghanol y mynyddoedd.
En: There was talk that Eleri and Gareth were going to marry on top of Snowdon, fly to the moon on an eagle's back, and build a palace in the middle of the mountains.

Cy: Wrth gwrs, pan ddaeth Gareth yn ôl i mewn am baned o de, roedd synnu yn ei lygaid wrth glywed yr hanesion gwyllt.
En: Of course, when Gareth came back inside for a cup of tea, he was surprised to hear the wild stories.

Cy: Eleri oedd yr unig un heb syniad beth oedd wedi digwydd.
En: Eleri was the only one without a clue of what had happened.

Cy: Pan esboniodd Gareth yr holl stori iddi, methu wnaethon nhw â dal eu chwerthin.
En: When Gareth explained the whole story to her, they couldn't help but burst into laughter.

Cy: Roedd amser yn iawn i unioni'r camddealltwriaeth.
En: It was time to set the misunderstanding right.

Cy: Gyda pheidio â bod yn rhy flin, aeth Eleri a Gareth i siarad â Mrs. Lloyd.
En: Without being too upset, Eleri and Gareth talked to Mrs. Lloyd.

Cy: Roedd hi'n deimlo ychydig o gywilydd am ei chwilfrydedd, ond roedd Eleri a Gareth yn gyfeillgar ac yn ddealltwriaeth.
En: She felt a little embarrassed about her curiosity, but Eleri and Gareth were friendly and understanding.

Cy: Penderfynwyd cael digwyddiad cymunedol i ddathlu gwerth yr antur roedd y pentref wedi'i greu.
En: It was decided to have a community event to celebrate the value of the adventure the village had created.

Cy: Mor felly ymaith aethant ynghyd i dathlu, â Gareth yn arwain yr holl bentref i fyny mynydd yr Wyddfa, Eleri yn chwerthin ar ei ochr, a'r gydol y ffordd mae pawb yn hel atgofion am drasiedi a hwyl yr eiliad roedd neges destun syml wedi dod yn saga pentref.
En: So, off they went together to celebrate, with Gareth leading the whole village up the mountain of Snowdon, Eleri laughing by his side, and all along the way everyone is gathering memories of the confusion and the fun of the moment a simple text message turned into a village saga.

Cy: Ac ymhen amser, pan fydd pobl yr ardal yn adrodd hanesion a chwedlau, cofiant am y diwrnod y trodd neges destun camgymeriad yn antur gyffrous a ddoniol, a sut y gwnaeth cymuned gyfan dod ynghyd i chwerthin a dathlu natur annisgwyl bywyd yn y pentref bach yng nghysgod bryniau hardd Eryri.
En: And in time, when people in the area tell stories and legends, it will be remembered as the day a mistaken text message turned into an exciting and humorous adventure, and how the whole community came together to laugh and celebrate the unexpected joy of life in the small village in the shadow of the beautiful mountains of Snowdonia.
