Black life has been starved for one. A brand will colonize the hunger and call the colonization leadership. Then the badge fails. Sex. The scheme. Flesh under the costume. You gasp. The gasp is the alibi. You hired the statue so the house would not have to meet you. A mentor who is not a vendor holds up what the ego buried and ran from. Not so you can worship the glass. So you can digest what is in it. You are not the broken self that needs a bodyguard. That story is the ego’s last paycheck. A clean teacher does not get paid in your kneeling.
