STELLAR HORIZONS — SEASON 3, EPISODE 4"Opening Statements"The trial that could redefine life itself has begun. With the galaxy watching, Captain Arlen Voss and the crew of Stellar Horizons enter Tribunal Chamber Three to defend the unthinkable: the right of a living starship to be recognized as a person. The prosecution argues that Stellar Horizons is nothing more than an ancient relic—a sophisticated machine programmed to imitate life. The defense argues something far more profound: that consciousness, choice, hope, and fear are the true measures of existence. As opening statements shake the chamber, old loyalties are tested, political pressure mounts, and cracks begin to form within the prosecution itself. But when Judge Aram Lethwyn takes the extraordinary step of allowing Stellar Horizons to speak on his own behalf, the trial becomes something far greater than a legal proceeding. It becomes a question every civilization must eventually answer:What does it mean to be alive? And when the sentient starship is asked a simple question—whether he fears death—his answer leaves the courtroom in stunned silence. The case has begun. The evidence is coming. And for the first time, those who seek to claim Stellar Horizons as property may be realizing they are not putting a machine on trial at all.
