Well done, very interesting. Agree with both Chloe and Neil about regulation on anonymous, hurtful posts. Social media is a great way of getting your events and announcements out there quickly and to a wide audience.

This was a very interesting listen. Thank you! The internet has become an invaluable tool in terms of access of information. Like Chloe stated, the ability for creative people to share their works to a potentially massive audience can be hugely beneficial also. Both for its creators and their audience. I can't help but fear the negative sociological aspect though; almost everywhere you look on social media platforms, you see people aggressively arguing and hate/ negativity being spread. This is not representative of face-to-face human interaction; SM seems to have created its own environment which is isolated and very different to what we experience face-to-face. It also harbours unrealistic expectations (especially for women and girls/ young people). Often what we see is a facade, and more awareness needs to be brought to the effect of this on the mental health of its creators, and more importantly, their audience. Thought provoking stuff!

Great podcast! Love the two different opinions from two different generations. I agree with Neil in the way that people use social media to be mean to others as it can be something to hide behind but do agree with Chloe more that it is the future and is creating jobs and freedom of letting people to express themselves in ways never had been before.

Interesting podcast and good to see a balance of opinions between the pros and cons of social media. Good to see that both agree that whether it’s a good thing or a bad thing that it could improve with more regulation.
