"The family is living in fear. They are constantly watching their back looking over their shoulder wondering when the next shoe is going to drop."
Rickety Ranch, an animal sanctuary in Hollis, New Hampshire, billed itself as a safe space for children of all ages to come together and learn about animals. Having been built slowly over time by co-owners Gary and Diane Bergeron on their 2.6 acre property, the Rickety Ranch accepted all with open arms and tried to promote positivity.
But in 2017, a strange extortion campaign started. First came letters. Then came physical acts of vandalism, which soon progressed into something more sinister...
