These witty, engaging and amusing poetic descriptions of the lives of prominent people are not only a joy to read, but are a quick and easy way to learn about these celebrated people and the major events for which they are remembered. Humorist Wilbur D. Nesbit has cleverly - and reasonably accurately - combined history, comedy and verse together in describing a variety of famous people from the past, and produced a collection of poems that entertain, amuse and educate. These poems are brief summaries of twenty-six renowned peoples' lives - one for each letter of the alphabet - and the events in those lives that have created fame and recognition. Nesbit brings his comprehensive knowledge of history along with his skill, wit and dexterity as a poet and writer in this light look at history. It is a collection that will appeal to all who wish to learn, be entertained and be amused, or in Nesbit's words, "Who frets about the mystery / Enshrouding all of history / On reading this will, maybe, see / We've made it plain as A, B, C." - Summary by Bruce Kachuk
