David Halperin is the author of Intimate Alien: “The Hidden Story of the UFO.” David was a teen UFOlogist who grew up to become a professor of religious studies at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. He had a special interest in religious traditions of heavenly ascensions and otherworldly journeys. While David no longer believes in UFOs, they’ve never ceased to cast their spell over him. The goal of David’s research is to understand what that spell has been for him and what it remains for millions of others. His position in a nutshell: UFOs are a myth; myths are real.
