Story Transcript:

El: Στη σκιά της Ακρόπολης, σε μια μικρή γραφική ταβέρνα αυτού του αρχαίου πόλης, ο Νίκος περίμενε δυσαρεστημένος.
En: In the shadow of the Acropolis, in a small picturesque tavern of this ancient city, Nikos waited discontentedly.

El: Άπραγος, βούλωσε άλλη μια φέτα ψωμί στο στόμα του, αναζητώντας κάτι να κάνει.
En: Listless, he shoved another piece of bread into his mouth, searching for something to do.

El: Ακόμη δεν είχε ιδέα για την επικείμενη απροσδόκητη περιπέτεια.
En: He still had no idea about the upcoming unexpected adventure.

El: "Ένα αρνί, παρακαλώ," είπε χαμηλόφωνα στον σερβιτόρο, ενώ το 'Ένα' ήταν για μια παραγγελία πάνω στην ώρα, μη συνειδητοποιώντας ότι ήταν μόνος του.
En: "A lamb, please," he said quietly to the waiter, the 'please' part being a timely order, not realizing he was alone.

El: Ιδρώτας στον υποψία της ταβέρνας, ο Νίκος παρατήρησε έναν τύπο να φέρει ένα ολόκληρο αρνί στο τραπέζι του.
En: Sweating in the suspicion of the tavern, Nikos noticed a guy bringing a whole lamb to his table.

El: Ο ίδιος νιώθοντας αμήχανος, άρχισε να κοκκινίζει ενώ οι θαμώνες γύρω του έμεναν άφωνοι, κοιτάζοντας εκείνον και το αρνί.
En: Feeling embarrassed himself, he started blushing while the surrounding patrons remained speechless, looking at him and the lamb.

El: "Συγνώμη, υπήρξε μια παρεξήγηση," είπε, αλλά δεν είχε δύναμη να αντιμετωπίσει την κατάσταση.
En: "Sorry, there has been a misunderstanding," he said, but he did not have the strength to face the situation.

El: Καθώς ο Νίκος, απεγνωσμένος, πάλευε να σκεφτεί έναν τρόπο να ξεφύγει από αυτή την συμφορά, ένα χέρι τον χτύπησε στην πλάτη.
En: As Nikos, desperate, struggled to think of a way to escape this predicament, a hand slapped him on the back.

En: Behind him, a carpenter with a laborer's apron and a hat with a few years on it, triumphantly laughed.

El: " είπε, φέρνοντας στο τραπέζι του Νίκου μια κριθαρένια παστέλα, αγαπημένο φαγητό του ξυλουργού.
En: he said, bringing a barley pie to Nikos' table, the carpenter's favorite food.

El: Το πλήθος υποχώρησε σιγά-σιγά, αλλά τα χαμόγελα παρέμεναν.
En: The crowd slowly dispersed, but the smiles remained.

El: Υστερικά, ο Νίκος παρατήρησε το αρνί, που έδειχνε τόσο μεγάλο όσο και ταγικό, και γέλασε.
En: Hysterically, Nikos observed the lamb, looking as big as it was tragic, and laughed.

El: Παρ'όλα αυτά, απόλαυσε την παστέλα με τον ξυλουργό και πέρασε μια ξεχωριστή βραδιά, γεμάτη γέλιο και καλή παρέα.
En: Nevertheless, he enjoyed the pie with the carpenter and had a special evening, full of laughter and good company.

El: Από την επόμενη μέρα, ο Νίκος όποτε έδινε παραγγελία, υπογράμμιζε σαφώς το πόσα πιάτα ήθελε.
En: From the next day, whenever Nikos placed an order, he clearly emphasized how many plates he wanted.

El: Η ιστορία αυτή έγινε κλασική στη γειτονιά, ένας αφορμή για γέλιο και μια διδαχή να είμαστε σαφείς στις παραγγελίες μας.
En: This story became a classic in the neighborhood, a cause for laughter and a lesson to be clear in our orders.
