Good morning, Florida boaters! It's time for your Coastal Waters Forecast brought to you by the National Weather Service in Miami. I'm here to make sure you stay informed, safe, and ready for any marine adventures you have planned.
Let's kick things off with a rundown for today, Tuesday, March 26th, 2024. We've got hazardous conditions continuing across the Atlantic waters with seas ranging from 5 to 7 feet and winds blowing at 20 to 25 knots. So, a heads-up on that Small Craft Advisory in effect. Looking ahead, expect southeasterly winds leading up to the next front mid-week, possibly bringing thunderstorms back into the picture.
For our Gulf Stream fans out there, it's not smooth sailing either, with potential strong wind gusts up to 30 knots. That Gulf Stream, as of this morning, is showing activity with seas ranging from 5 to 7 feet, not the ideal day for a leisurely cruise.
Moving over to the coastal waters, we've got a Small Craft Advisory in effect through Wednesday evening. Along the coast, we're seeing some wild action with seas ranging from 6 to 8 feet and gusts up to 35 knots in the morning. So, hold onto your hats, folks! Intracoastal waters are looking choppy.
As we sail through the week, expect more of the same with Southeast winds at 15 to 20 knots and gusts to 25 knots, keeping seas between 5 to 7 feet. You might catch some NE swell at 4 to 5 feet, so be prepared for a bit of a rocky ride.
