Story Transcript:

Sl: Luka je stopicljal po ulicah starega dela Ljubljane.
En: Luka was strolling through the streets of the old part of Ljubljana.

Sl: Sonce je prijazno sijalo in ptički so čivkali.
En: The sun was shining kindly and the birds were chirping.

Sl: Ta dan se mu je mudilo v pekarno, saj je na delovnem mestu čakal pomemben sestanek, kjer ni smel biti lačen.
En: He was in a hurry to get to the bakery, as an important meeting awaited him at work, and he couldn't afford to be hungry.

Sl: V pekarni je kupil rogljiček in štručko, vse skrbno zapakiral v svojo torbico za malico in se hitro podal proti pisarni.
En: He bought a croissant and a roll at the bakery, carefully packed them in his lunch bag, and quickly headed towards the office.

Sl: V istem trenutku je tudi Marko vstopil v pekarno.
En: At the same moment, Marko also entered the bakery.

Sl: Bil je velik ljubitelj prekmurske gibanice, ki jo je pekarna imela samo ob sredah.
En: He was a big fan of Prekmurje layer cake, which the bakery only had on Wednesdays.

Sl: Hitel je, ker se mu ni hotelo zamuditi avtobusa, ki ga je popeljal do njegove delovne ustanove, kjer je bil športni trener.
En: He was hurrying not to miss the bus that would take him to his workplace, where he worked as a sports coach.

Sl: Naročil je svojo najljubšo gibanico in jo spravil v svojo malico, ter se s torbico v roki odpravil ven.
En: He ordered his favorite layer cake and put it in his lunch bag, then walked out with the bag in his hand.

Sl: Nenadoma je pri vratih pekarne prišlo do majhne gneče; Luka je hkrati z Markom poskušal zapustiti majhno trgovino.
En: Suddenly, a small commotion occurred at the bakery door; Luka and Marko were both trying to leave the small shop at the same time.

Sl: V naglici jutranjega vrveža sta se njuni torbici za malico zamenjali.
En: In the rush of the morning bustle, their lunch bags got swapped.

Sl: Luki se je mudilo, ni opazil zamenjave.
En: Luka was in a hurry and didn't notice the switch.

Sl: Ko je prispel v pisarno, je odprl torbico in njegove oči so se začudeno razširile.
En: When he arrived at the office, he opened his lunch bag and his eyes widened in astonishment.

Sl: Namesto rogljička in štručke je zagledal košček bogate gibanice.
En: Instead of a croissant and a roll, he saw a piece of rich layer cake.

Sl: Vznemirjenje je preplavilo sobo, ko so kolegi videli njegovo osuplost.
En: Excitement filled the room as his colleagues saw his surprise.

Sl: Joj, Luka, vidim, da si si prehitro privoščil zajtrk!
En: Oh, Luka, I can see you treated yourself to breakfast too quickly!

Sl: Dogovorila sta se, da se dobijo po službi v lokalu ob Ljubljanici, da vrnejo prave malice in se nasmejijo dogodivščini.

En: said Luka.

Sl: Barbara je predlagala, da si izmenjajo telefone, da se kaj takega ne ponovi.
En: Barbara suggested exchanging phone numbers so that something like that wouldn't happen again.

Sl: Marko pa je dodal: Ali pa tudi, ker je bila danes gibanica resnično odlična!
En: Marko added, Or maybe because the layer cake today was truly excellent!

Sl: Smeh je odmeval ob reki, in še dolgo v noč so delili zgodbe in načrtovali nove srečne nesreče.
En: Laughter echoed by the river, and late into the night, they shared stories and planned for new happy accidents.
