On Jan. 3, 2022, in the town of Slaughter, Louisiana, the Slaughter Police Department responded to a call at a residence regarding an unresponsive person. When they arrived on the scene, they discovered the body of 36-year-old Lacey Fletcher, covered in feces, emaciated, and quite literally “melted” into the couch she lay upon. It was an absolutely shocking discovery - only made even more horrific when details began to emerge of how this young woman ended up rotting to death on the sofa in her own home. If you’re squeamish this story may not be for you - but it’s an important one to tell.
