Body Horror July continues with a film so revolting, shocking, nonsensical, and downright weird that it may be a first for the Kulturecast: Kuso. The feature debut of musician Flying Lotus (Steven Ellison) is less a structured narrative than an audio-visual exploration of Los Angeles in the aftermath of a massive earthquake. Drawing on influences like Salad Fingers and Flying Lotus' other projects, it's a disturbing, disgusting foray into Ellison's mind. We get into the film, why it's on Shudder, and who in their right mind would enjoy it.
Award-winning screenwriter Jess Byard joins Chris Stachiw, the Doctor of Podcasting, to talk Kuso, Flying Lotus, body horror, and so much more.
