The rock song ranked #133 on Rolling Stone’s 500 Greatest Songs of All Time. It became a number nine hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and was released in 1981.

Steve Perry was lead vocalist of the song. The lyric “streetlight people living just to find emotion” came from Perry watching people walking in the streets of Detroit at night after a show.

The words “Don’t stop Believin’” always ring out loud to my ears the most. Sometimes things seem really bad, but I am always reminded by the song “Don’t Stop Believin” to keep believing.

The songwriters Steve Perry, Jonathan Cain, and Neal Schon wrote a very good song. A song like the one they wrote helps to keep your head up in a time of trouble. It helps you to find strength to go on fighting. Music has power. Words have power. We need great songwriters and musicians. We are lucky to have a band like Journey.

The title of the song came from something keyboardist Jonathan Cain's father frequently told him when he was a struggling musician living on Los Angeles' Sunset Boulevard ready to give up because he was not having success in the music industry. Each time he would call home in despair, his father would tell him, "Don't stop believing or you're done, dude.

Yes, we’ve got to keep on Believing. I’m Gail Nobles, and you’re listening to the Cat Bear. Todays topic: Journey - Don’t Stop Believin.
