Joel returns and talks about his many travels but his own personal journey as well. You'll hear about the farm itself and you'll also get a snapshot into who Polyface approaches things and get a few tips along the way about compost, chickens of course and more.

We were blessed to have Joel with us again and right after his trip to South America and the stories he tells about that most recent trip are fascinating. But then again, personally, all of Joel's stories are to me.

The Good Foods podcast is hosted by Shardan Sandoval and it’s possible that you've heard my voice on a commercial here and there, particularly since I'm currently one of the many talented National Creative Production Designers for iHeartMedia and to date, I voiced and produced commercials that have aired from Hartford to Hawaii.

I created the podcast for Good Foods Grocery, which opened its doors in 1985, a natural food store in Richmond, Virginia. And through our podcast, we hope to help find the answers to some of the questions that our customers and our listeners may have in their wellness journey.

Good Foods Grocery is the ONLY locally owned, locally operated, and LOCALLY focused health food store in Richmond, Virginia.

And if you are in the Richmond area and thinking about picking up some Polyface products, be sure to ask for Lori Kirkland, our Frozen Department Manager. Lori can answer just about any question you might have about Polyface and other wonderful items in her department.

Lori is our local meat buyer, and she loves communicating with our local farmers in the state of Virginia to get their beef, pork, chicken, turkey, and lamb available for our customers at the store.

Lori’s love for supporting local started when she was in college in central Minnesota at the College of Saint Benedict Saint John's University, and it brings her joy to not only educate herself but also our customers on the importance of consuming grass-fed animal products and knowing where your food came from.

One of Lori’s main passions for working at Good Foods Grocery is the dominant presence of supporting local, supporting your farmers, and supporting local families,
