Welcome to the first episode of FemVegTrauma!:)
Please note that this episode originally was a video, which included some of the photography of Emma. Due to hosting restrictions however, I had to opt for an audio podcasting host, but you can find Emma's work on her website.
Today I talked with Emma Schwarz, co-founder of
veganography. Emma and her partner create films about farmed animals that spread the vegan message from the perspective of an individual non-human animal. Some of her films include:
Dairy DisclosedLucky the Rescued Cow: From Solitude to Serenity The Love Stories of Luvin ArmsOne in a Billion Wonder PigsWe discussed effective activism within the animal rights movements, which is also the topic of her upcoming book (ready for pre-order in December). Some key points included communication style, the power of storytelling, the importance of self-care and self-awareness in activists, and frugivores!
We had a great time and I hope you will enjoy this interview as much as I did, and can take away some inspiration.
